Ripple Rock RV Park Campbell River

We've got a great site, with great weather ( sunny, 16 - 17 Celsius ), at low season so there's hardly anybody here. It's at least 100 feet to the nearest RV from ours. In high season they'd be about 6 feet away. We're right on the water, with a fishing pier at my feet. We have electricity, water, sewer, cable TV and wireless internet ( I had to have a site like this so I could play with my new toys ) for the off-season rate of $28 a day.
Hot showers, clubhouse with TV and stuff and a marina.

We'll likely stay here the rest of the week.

Re: Ripple Rock RV Park Campbell River

Today a pod of Orcas made their way up Seymour Narrows past our waterfront campsite and a sea otter sent the beagle ( Charly ) ballistic when it cut through our site. An eagle powered overhead with the deep rumble of air through its wings and with part of a salmon in its beak. Charly saw her first garter snake.

No pix. Orcas too far away. Otter to small and too fast. Only got a glimpse of the eagle.

Wow, that sounds GREAT! Don't you just LOVE camping : - ) You wouldn't see that from your local Holiday Inn!
Looks like (from the first picture above) that you stood there watching the Orcas for a LONG TIME!!!!!!!!!

What a wonderful site with such a view out our back window! Great photos! Great weather! It looks like you made the right choice to go to Vancouver Island. Thank you for sharing the experience with us.

Re: Ripple Rock RV Park Campbell River

Glen, where is Ripple Rock? I'm going to Rock Creek just outside of Campbell River this summer to see my brother and would love to check this one out. Thanks, Marina

Re: Ripple Rock RV Park Campbell River

Ripple Rock RV is about a half hour north of Campbell River on Hwy. 19 to Port Hardy. If you're going in summer I would highly recommend reservations. The name of the place is Browns Bay Marina and Resort and Ripple Rock RV Park is part of it. Not cheap in the summer and full I expect.

It's Friday night and we're leaving tomorrow morning.

As the Old Bag said, "there goes the neighborhood".
