RV camping near chilliwack
Hi all,
We are going to be picking up our Escape trailer Sept 08 2015. We are not only new to the escape we are complete novices to trailer camping. We have been tent camping for many years. My husband refuses to get in and out of a tent any longer. We are planning a few days at an RV park to do a lot of practice on how to hook up etc and want to be close to ETI, an hour or even two away is fine. Cottonwood meadows continually comes up, however I looked at some reviews and it sounds pretty horrible. Can anybody out there suggest possible alternatives. We do need full hook up
Thanks for your help

Cultus Lake campground has full hookups and is about 15 to 20 minutes from Escape. There are also a couple of Provincial campgrounds up there as well but they don't have hookups. There are a few more but that would be the nicest to stay at.

Bridal Falls might be ok...no idea on how nice it is though.
Have been very happy with Wild Rose in Hope.

Use Google Maps.
Probably half an hour.

I stayed at Bridal Veil two nights ago. Clean, a nice basic restaurant on the grounds, 6' hedges between each site for privacy. Due to the holiday it was very full but I could recommend it over the Cottonwood and it's less than 15. Minutes from ETI.

Wild Rose was nice but the trains going through at night were very noisy. Bridal falls is nice but it's beside Hwy #1, also noisy at night. Cottonwood is also on Hwy #1. If you are looking at going to Hope, the Coquahalla campground is on the river, quiet, and close to downtown Hope. It's about 45 minutes from Escape Trailers.

I was going to ask the same question. Charlie & Lucy and we have our orientations 2 days apart in Sept. and are thinking about getting together at the same campground. Just need to find a good one close to Sumas or Bellingham. Loren

We stay at the Lynden fairgrounds in downtown Lynden for a trailer rally. We stay in the field but there is a campground right behind it. It's about 15 minutes from the Sumas Border or 5 minutes from the Aldergrove Border. Then it's about 1/2 hour to Escape Trailers.i

We stayed at Bridal Veil ("CamperLand") a few days ago so ETI could swap our refrigerator on our way to a Vancouver Island holiday. If it's warm, ask for a site along the provincial park border -- they are nicely shaded and, in our opinion, much more pleasant than the "pool loop" area. We stayed in two sites and preferred site 76. Brief writeup and a few pix here.

Loren and Cathy... Hope to discuss with you a little later? We are currently looking to see what's around. Looking forward to talking...

Our orientation is Sept. 21. Originally we were going to head east on the Northern Cascades Hwy (US 20); staying at Pine Near RV Park & Campground ~ Tipis, Mining Shack Cabins, Laundry
But, change of plans; we're now planning on staying at Bay View State Park south of Bellingham for a couple of days. Bay View State Park | Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission
That way we can visit Whidbey Island, Deception Pass, etc. on our layover day without listening to Navy jets in our sleep.

Thanks, Pat.
You have a safe, enjoyable trip as well.
Edit to original post about Northern Cascades Hwy: It is WA20 (state hwy), not US20. sorry 'bout that.
