Scenic View RV Park, Lone Star TX

We hit a home run with today's campground. Scenic View Motel and RV Park on Ellison Creek Reservoir in northeast Texas. Champion level bass fishing, gorgeous view, campsite right near the water, and only $15 a night for full hookups with our PA membership. Kim and Jim the owners are just wonderful friendly people too. An A plus.

Very nice!!! Makes me jealous. Only the evergreens are showing green here and lakes start to thaw.

Robert,
Looks like a really nice place and only a 4 hr drive or so for me. Is a "PA" membership like the Good Sam club? Not familiar with it and would appreciate more info.

Sorry for the abbreviations Mike. I meant Passport America. It's not bad. They don't have nearly as many campgrounds to choose from as Good Sam does, but there's a 50% discount instead of Good Sam's 10%.

Passport America has good intentions but, there are too many restrictions I found for most of the locations. Weekends and holidays exclusions is a common thread in their cg list.

thanks, will check it out. Seems like a good deal as long as you use it a few times a year.

Yes, there are many restrictions. But, half off is half off, and if its a restricted campground, you still get half off for the applicable days.

We have more than paid for the membership in the form of savings many times over. Tonight we are in a "nothing special" rv park in Blytheville AR as a one night stopover, and it's $14 with full hookups.

When I want to stay at a nice place for more than one night, I tend to gravitate toward State Parks. Where PA really shines is those one nighters along the way where you just want something quick and cheap.
