It's right about where two campgrounds are along the coast, both of which are now closed. (Refugio State Beach, El Capitan State Beach).

June 1, 2015 update: Here is an update from the Refugio Incident- Executive Summary Report
· Affected beaches border Refugio and Coal Oil Point. Campgrounds in these areas remain closed and campers were evacuated. The state beaches are closed until further notice for Refugio and El Capitan beaches.
In addition, oil/tar balls are showing up on Ventura County Beaches, and Los Angeles & Orange County beaches as well. These may or may not be from the oil spill, because we also get tar balls from natural seeps .
