[QUOTE=C&G in FL;72110]Not sure what point you are trying to make Mel. Hopefullyy, you will elaborate. Maybe I am missing something.
QUOTE]
Hi Carl,
"When ambient air is compressed, the contaminants and particles contained within that air become concentrated."
I agree that IF you released the air back into the room it came from it would have the original 'stuff' plus anything it picked up in the compressor at the same concentration.
When you release it into the plumbing system at 40 PSI the air is still compressed and expands to blow out the pipes. As it expands it contains more crap (it is still under pressure) which can be deposited on the pipes or pass on out back into the air it came from.
If that air passes back out into the room, yes it will be at the same concentration it started with plus some contaminants it picked up in the compressor ... minus what ever attached to the pipes and valves as it flew through.
Make any sense? I can picture it but it's hard to explain.
I simply want to drain the pipes the old fashioned way (how about using a cork?). And then use a little air to blow out the remaining IF we are having a hard freeze.
I only brought up the 'health issues' to make the point that there is more to this then blasting the toilet valve clear. I personally just want to keep it simple and will be installing a low point drain in the next couple days.

I don't know about that, did you factor in all the smoke you inhale sitting around those monster campfires.

Amazing we survived and evolved when our ancestors used to drink out from muddy pools of still water after brushing the algae out of the way I suppose......

: Yes my body is full of crap much worse then what we are discussing ... but for some reason my family thinks if I clean up my act, don't forget my chia, flax and hemp seeds, I will live a longer and be healthier. I think they just want me around to winterize the trailer ... but I'll take it as a compliment

All that great fresh air surrounding the smoke, more than makes up for it.
Lordy knows, I have swallowed a few lungs full of campfire smoke over the years.

You'd think you started this conversation around a campfire, and it just carried on to something else, eh?
'tis amazing how we digress.

Don't go dying on us Jim. We would all miss your wit and your perspective of things.
Hint: I've heard a shot or two of good Scotch countermanded the detrimental effects of inhaling campfire smoke!

This exact remedy has been know to happen around many a campfire. I just knew there was medicinal value to that sweet, sweet nectar.

My wife insists that my Auchentoshan smells just like a campfire. Nothing wrong with that, I say, especially when Escaping.

Bad dreams last night-- dreamt I was trapped in ET19's bathroom searching endlessly for the trap. It happens whenever I burn the meat balls. Seems the old digestive system don't take kindly to burnt edges on red meat anymore, and sauce or no sauce, makes me feel compressed. From now on may be best to air on the side of caution.

Myron, when you hear the doorbell ring, and look outside to see a van with some really nice men in white coats coming to your door, don't be alarmed, they are there to help you.

Right on. I looked at it as something that could help someone. I think things are getting a little carried away. In an Escape we are talking about maybe a 4' length of 1/2" pipe (from the city water inlet to the faucet). How much air or anti-freeze is that? About .022 cubic feet. The first gallon of water will clear it out.

A Better DIY Source to Blow Out Water Lines
What a relief to read you post! Often dreams are solutions when you look at them through the rear view mirror
You are a natural gas compressor, your water might taste like you ... butt never worse

Jim I prefer Toasted Almond myself. Kept at 32° but just like my lines, never frozen solid
