Cleaning the fridge burner

Is this something you folks do or have done regularly? I've not done such in 12 years and have YET to have an issue? Noticed Dometic says to clean it at least once a year.

I haven't had to clean mine in either trailer, including the 6 years I owned the 17 (quickly finding a piece of wood to knock on) but all it takes is one oily tank of propane to gum it up.

Yes, as has been discussed several times, it is an issue. It does happen. Both Myron and myself have had small carbon particles, larger than the orifice, that were removed.

One can sit there and not be a problem but if it gets into the orifice the fridge performance will go downhill.

Same photo that I posted yesterday. You can see the speck of carbon and the size of the orifice.
