Pink Dots on Gel Coat

Washed the top of our (new to us) 2010 17B. There were a number of small pink dots which I could not get rid of. Used soap and water, Krud Kutter and a green sponge scrubby. Then I tried a moderate polishing compound. They were diminished, but I could not get them to completely go away. I think they are probably algae which as penetrated the gel coat.

Any ideas or solutions?

I'd try a faster cut compound with a variable speed dual action buffer.

I would take a white towel, load it with bleach, lay it over the spots and don't remove it until the towel thoroughly dries.

I thought about bleach. Will it harm the gelcoat?

Thanks for the idea and video, but I do not think it is rust. They are randomly scattered around the surface, not near any metal.

Household bleach won't. The tip I gave is a favorite method to get deep-seated stains out by the boler crowd.

Thanks, Donna. I will give it a shot.
It is so hot here in TX it should dry in about 30 seconds!
