Vandalism

There are many kinds of vandalism but intertwined is also theft. We put the gas station air hose away every night when I worked in a Standard Oil Station in the 1960s. If you did not people would cut it off, take it home and buy a new fitting to use on their personal air compressor. The old man said some cut rate gas station outfits would steal them too to replace one they had taken from them. He marvaled that they had the energy and guts to steal from us but were too lazy to put theirs away. In those days new tires were wrapped with paper around and around. Every once in a while We would carefully slit the paper in the middle when we sold a pair of new tires. Then we'd rewrap a couple old tire carcasses and set them by the tire rack after we'd locked it up. They were gone the next morning.

We have a 5TA and I have near 10,000 miles on them.....They are very evenly worn and have lasted very well, I always run them at 48. I forget what the manual said- I thought it was 46-50, so I ran them in between the two numbers.

If the tire sidewalls feel too flexible when towing, or wear much faster near the shoulders, a higher pressure can be used. If stability and wear are fine but the ride is harsh, lower can be tried (but still 40 or more).
I have been inflating the tires on my 19' to 42psi for the past 4yrs. The tire performance has been good and this pressure seems to be about right.

I have an almost identical pressure/filler tip to the one you have shown. Works pretty well. Only issue I have had with mine is that the end that fastens to the tire will sometimes not seal properly while filling and leak air. Need to mess with the connection a bit before it will seal properly.

Thanks Dave Tire pressure is always best set with a starting range based on load and capacity, then refined based on experience.
