We never wax. Treat with Aerospace 303 twice a year. Looks fine so far.

Do you use the 303 on the entire trailer?

Just finished. Took us about two hours using Meguiars Premium Marine Wax to do the entire trailer. Even roof looks like new! This wax is excellent - very easy to work with.

That's the one I use. One of the things I really like about it is that bugs don't even stick to it, they just wash off.

We use 303 on the whole trailer. Cannot use wax if you do. Someone said that using 303 is easier than waxing but I have never waxed so don't know.

I have used Star Brite with PTEF twice on ours since we brought it home in April. The very first time I washed it it took me a long time to get all the bug splats off of it. Now they come off easily. That alone makes waxing worth it to me.

All the fiberglass. Would probably be good for the tires too.

Took delivery of my 17B in March and haven't waxed it yet but does get washed often. Probably won't wax until next spring. But it will be stored indoors all winter so I'm hoping that helps. Would love to wax it though....love that shiny new look and the trailer just tows better when it's clean....

I've got a gallon of the stuff now after buying the little spray bottles. I still wax the fiberglass but use 303 on everything plastic on the trailer and tow. It is even supposed to be good for leather.

I use 303 on all plastic also. I really like the look it gives to the tires. Deep and rich, not shiny and wet

I expected the roof to be quite a mess after 7+ weeks deep in the ADK's with lots of pine sap and various debris coming down. This shows the roof after washing and waxing.

Waxing the roof makes it look good, but is it beneficial for the longevity of the trailer? If the trailer doesn't need it, I won't do it due to the difficulty and risk of climbing onto something. I've been washing my trailer periodically, including the roof, but waxing only the non-roof parts of the trailer twice a year.

Also-- I've used Armor All for years on rubber and vinyl surfaces on my vehicles, and I've been happy with the results. Is 303 a good/better substitute for Armor All on the rubber window seals, etc., on the trailer? I understand its benefit for UV protection on hard plastic.

We have difficulty waxing the top, too. After reading about 303 from the forum, we spray the top and all the plastic pieces with it. Because we started to wax, we wax the sides. We have been gone for over 4 weeks, though, and I noticed that we didn't get all the was off the sides and now the dust has stuck to it. Probably because waxed was applied in 100F+ weather (albeit in the shade) and it hardened.

Good manual labor coupled with a podcast is great relaxation, at least for me.

I used Armor All for years until I talked with a guy who made awnings and canopies for boats. He told me to throw away the Armor All and use 303. Apparently (according to him) it protects a lot better.

Mike,
I agree with what sunrise says, Armor All is old school whereas 303 is supposedly space age protection. If possible the plastic items on the trailer, especially roof items as a/c and maxxfan should be cleaned with 303 for sum protection.

Thanks for the info; guess I'll try 303 instead of Armor All. I'd hesitate only because I'm reading that you have to apply 303 every three months; every six months would work better for me.

I drove a Ford Ranger pickup for eighteen years. Every six months I would apply Armor All to the door seals and the vinyl dashboard. When I finally sold the truck the dash and the door seals were still in good shape-- no cracking or anything.
