19' Finished at Last
Kim was kind enough to go outside and take some final shots of our completed 19'. I don't know about others, but there are many items that show up in the camper that we won't understand what they are until we get out for our orientation on May 4th. Lots of electronics and systems. Seems like my tent was much simpler! Can't wait to begin the 10 week maiden voyage. The excitement is building!!!

Maybe we can help, K&B? What are some of your questions? I see solar, inverter, your EMS, digital thermostat?

Last along with some of "the stuff" we've had to get to begin this phase. Also, brake controller is now installed in GMC Acadia, reservations are made for the trip to Escape. Now, nothing left but the wait!!!

Don't forget bed linens and if you got a bed mat to put underneath. Nice start though, those containers will fit nicely underneath the bed. Second thoughts on front box?

Jim, Yes, we are set up with linens and sleeping bags. You have to remember that we, like Jim of Calgary - are going from tent to trailer. I often camp today and fit everything I need into my 2 seat Hybrid CR-Z. Even have room for my boat! (Inflatable though!) Have done many trips canoe camping, so don't expect to need more room than is provided in the 19'.

Tent to trailer? We did that a few years ago and have no regrets! In fact my spouse loves it so much that we just sold our Casita and are picking up our 2012 Escape 19 in May. Excitement all around!

Jim,
What bed liner would you recommend people to buy and from what company?
Thanks

Here is one I used in my 19" Hypervent Condensation Prevention Matting
and here is the one I installed under my 21' bed and sides Order dryMesh and sleep well
you choose, The first is a little thicker and harder to work with, and the second one seems to be overseas and hard to contact?

Jim,
Do you just order quantity of 1? (of the first item) Or do you buy it by the foot and cut? Being new to this and having a long first trip, we want to do this right and you've got lots of experience. Thanks for all you've taught us since we met in April!

I recall that with 39" wide, I bought a piece long enough that when cut 2 pieces would would be 78" in width and 50" in length and installed them cross ways to the mattress which I believe is 72 long x 60 wide. This should allow some extra for around the edges. Thus 144" long by 39" (12 foot length)would be what you need, cut into 2 pieces 72x39 and install under the bed cross ways. Does this make sense?

Actually I found my receipt it was 14' long because the bed is 80 and you will need an extra 1' piece to go around the perimeter where it touches the exterior walls.

I found this site DryMesh Anti-moisture layer for RVs, boats and yachts which seems to be located in Connecticut. Do you think this is the same material? They sell a 6' x 6' 6" piece for $90.

That is the stuff I bought for BlackJack, a little thinner and easier to work with. Either will do the job.

Friday bonus! This week I have been traveling around Canada on business. Spent time in Edmonton, Saskatoon and Red Deer and finished the week in Surrey. Since I was so close to Chilliwack, I was able to pay ETI and my completed 19' a visit. It's one thing to see pictures, but really special to see the great workmanship in person! Just want to send a great thank you to Reace, Tammy, Kim and all the caring people at ETI for the great job that they do. Just 42 days and the great adventure begins!
