Greg,
I also have a stove top purcolator that I've had for years, it's now in the trailer in the event there's no electricity where I'm at.
When I was a kid I developed a fond attraction to purcolated coffee while camping with my family, I slept in a top bunk(sister below) and every morning my mother would plug the purcolator in and the aroma was awesome.
This past week in Maine I finally had electricity and was excited to hear and smell that purcolator popping away lol. It's the small things in life!

My posts will be of my cousin and I, the trailer and experiences. If you happen to see my bow, tree stand or any other gear at the campsite,oh well!

Ok,on to the trailer!
It's the best trailer I've seen or had, it's just made better period! Some minor things I found were a small leak under the sink on the hot water connection, a simple twist of the screw collar and that was that!
Then there's the infamous "light through the door". This is in no way a problem, defect or shoddy workmanship, I can see it's just difficult to perfectly seal a curved door to a curved entrance.
The last thing is absolutely nothing at all other than a personal pet peeve, I hate squeaks! There's a slight squeak in the floor right where the refrigerator cabinet is. It's slight and irrelevant, it's just me!
The coldest night so far was around 38 degrees F and no problems with the heater, I love it! Not sure if the duel pane Windows help without being sealed with gas in between but they look cool and I like them! The insulation I would say has to be of some help because the heater had no problem heating the trailer night after night and condensation was minimal.

The refrigerator is awesome! I'm really happy about that because of all the negative refrigerator talk. The warmest mid day temps were 78 and I had the setting on 5 which is the highest. I had ice milk which was in a large plastic container stored in the door. Had to turn the setting to 4 and its still a little icy, zero complaints on the refrigerator, it's excellent!

I camped the first four nights without any hookups, I ran the refrigerator the whole time and the heater all night. I didn't use any lights because I have two small battery operated led lanterns that we used. I upgraded from the 27 group battery to the 29. The last time I checked the 29 wasn't available as an upgrade, just the twin 6 volts. I didn't check the battery so I have no idea how low it was but it worked for the entire four days and I'm very happy!
For the rest of the trip it will be plugged in to shore power.

My F250 isn't labored at all pulling this trailer, the truck is heavy and the trailer is like paper behind it. I get around 16 mpg on the highway driving 70, towing the trailer I lose 1 mpg so far.
My wife and son went with me for just the first night and we just had a family camping evening with a campfire and marshmallows. My son loved the trailer, as did my wife but of course it wasn't long before she uttered those words that I dreaded to hear......5.0TA. But I explained the value (for me personally) of the truck bed and fiberglass cap and she soon agreed! Phew!

some of use would like to see some of your success pictures. some of the people are worried it my spoil there dinner at outback.

It amazes that most people don't understand for us to live something must die! to them just remember when you driving threw the fast food drive up you just killed something!!

There are laws in most state to protect hunters from hunter harassment. I know in my state of New York you could do jail time for saying something about your avtar .

Have fun hunting and camping .

I have hunted most of my life, and only in the last few years have not. My perspective on your comments are as follows.

I am fully in favour of responsible hunting. Hunters are definitely one of the biggest proponents behind successful wildlife management, and are responsible for many project that ensure this success.

Both scenarios you post here are valid. Mutual respect is what is needed though, and everyone will be relatively happy. Photos of success hunting can be shared privately with those who wish to see them, while those uncomfortable with seeing such photos would not be subjected to them.

I did not hunt for the thrill of sharing my successes, nor did I ever take or share any photos. I hunted for harvesting a good quality meat, BUT mosly for the relaxation that getting out hunting gave me. I enjoyed wandering about, exploring, and enjoying being out there. Successfully harvesting an animal was only a bonus.

I am not in favour of displaying any kill on a trailering forum like this.

I think most people are aware that food is harvested for them, even in the case of raised livestock, they just don't care to see photos from the slaughterhouse either. I grew up in a farming community and regularly saw things, from harvesting chickens and pigs, to the branding and castration of livestock, so this type of thing does not bother me. The majority of folks did not have this experience though, and how they feel should be respected.

Most people are also aware that doctors must open people up to perform many surgeries. Many are not comfortable watching that either. I actually am fascinated with it.

People from every walk of life are given protection from harassment, not just hunters. Freedom of speech too is protected, and folks are free to comment as they wish on photos. They should just do so with respect, even if they find them objectionable.

With this I am 100% on board. We should all have fun with whatever we choose to do.

I also agree!
What irritates me( and is completely irrational) is the person who is against me or anyone else killing a deer for its meat, but will gladly go down to the grocery store and buy a beef steak, go home and swill it down, and feel completely "ok" with there behavior! This is the pinnacle of irrationality!

I REALLY miss the taste of venison. One or biggest adaptations we have had to deal with since I last hunted, is using ground beef compared to ground venison. Beef is way fattier, and has less flavour. With a moose, I would use only the best cuts for steaks and roasts, the rest would be used for groud and sausage.

When I grew up in Colorado we had to mix pork with the elk meat for ground.
Jack who knows where Costco is located.

Yes, we always added a bit of pork fat to the ground, so it would fry nicer.

It's probably best not to put Pictures of dead animals on this trailering forum since no doubt there are going to be a variety of opinions about hunting.

Similarly, we've learned that it is best to remember this is an international trailering forum. There tend to be cultural differences between Canada and the US when we rub up against issues like gun control. Online conversations can quickly become overly-hated and spoil the focus of the ETI forum. And strain online relationships.

My wife and I both got a moose permit back in 2007 and was able to "catch" a moose! Lol!

Moose meat is excellent and is in fact the largest animal in the deer family!

Just got back from dropping the trailer off at the storage facility, and I'm glad of it! I find it very stressful having to plow around and clean off a trailer sitting in my yard.

Moose ribs cooked on a Weber grill are great. We got our moose in the BWCA of Minnesota and had to portage the moose for over 6 miles .

Can one find Moose in a restaurant in Chilliwack or Vancouver when we come to pick up the trailer? The kids would probably enjoy that memory!

Hi: Greg A... It's really too hard to get a Moose to sit still long enough to enjoy a meal. Alf

Although moose are widespread around the globe, they are a northern animal. We get them in our yard, but only occasionally actually see them.

My guess is no. Elk and bison are available because these "game" animals are raised on ranches for commercial production (with really high fences in the case of the elk), but I've never heard of a moose ranch, and I'm pretty sure that commercial sale of wild game is not legal in Canada. I've had venison, elk, and bison... but never moose.

Pork fat makes anything fry nicer.
