Congrats.

You must try a bottle of Granville Island Nut Brown Ale. I think the 500 ml. bottle sells for about $6.50. ( a regular can of beer is 355 ml. ).

But, actually, the best beer at a reasonable price is Red Ryder I.P.A. ( Hope you like hops ).

It is rated best by CAMRA BC ( Campaign for Real Ale ) for 2008 or 2009. They also have a wheat beer ( Belgian style ) with coriander and orange peel for a change of pace.

Another highly rated I.P.A. is Phillips from Victoria.

You must raise a few of these to "Blue" ( unfortunately, the name of a insipid brand of Canadian beer, akin to Bud ).

Baglo - you might be interested in the 6 brews I gave Reace and Tammy: a Samuel Smith Nut Brown clone, a Samuel Smith Taddy Porter clone, an Anchor Steam clone, my closest approximation of Celis White, a Corsendak clone and Unspoken Passion Raspberry Imperial Stout (it has 8 pounds of raspberries in a 5 US gallon batch)

By clone, are you saying that these are your own home brews?

If so, sounds like an ambitious selection.

Yep - we call a recipe that comes close to a commercial brew a clone. My other main stay is a Cascade Pale Ale the uses all my homegrown Cascade hops too.

You have my admiration. Only home brew I've done comes out of a can ( Cooper's Ale ).
But then, I live in an 800 sq. ft. house with no basement.
Any brewing here has to invade the space so I've not had the luxury of experimenting.

BTW. Monday ( today ) is a holiday here so government liquor stores are closed. If you paid $14 for a six pack, you were probably paying $2 premium at a private liquor store.

Re: Brews

Eric,

I like the color choice. Look forward to a Cheesehead Escape Rally so we can compare ideas.

Re: Brews

I just have to ask... why is a topic called "Brews" under the topic of "Show your Escape" ? Unless Reace and Tammy are building a trailer with a tap instead of a sink

The idea was to split off the beer and move it to the related microbrew, but then I realized I'd split stuff I didn't want to split so I quit. Then my MacBook Pro suffered a stroke. I am limping along on my daughter's laptop until my new Pro is configured by the IT department.
Here's hoping one day I can be moderate.

It's the beer.. too much active yeast and it's infiltrated the apple produce..
