If you ever see a camper flood its a no brainer especially for $25. We were eating breakfast one morning many years ago and looked out the window and our friends camper had water running out of it. Valve broke while they were away, filled the tanks and flooded their camper.
That thought is still burned in my mind to this day and I shut off the water at night and when we leave for the day.

As Tom said, highly recommended practice to turn the water off when leaving the trailer for extended periods. We have always done this, but don't remember years ago who convinced us to do it.

Turn off the water pump or turn it off at the hose? Never heard of doing this, but that's not surprising since I'm still learning all this stuff.

If using the water pump, turn it off. If using city water, turn the faucet outside off, and you probably already have the pump off anyway in that case.

Newbie Alert- if hooked up to water you don't use the water pump at all.

I always turn off the water when I leave the camper. If you lock the door...turn off the water.

Yeah, my cats wouldn't have a clue. Lucy did a 3+ week trip with me in a motorhome but she was more concerned with finding a place to snuggle up on when I was driving. She learned quickly the bed was the best place and that I stopped every few hours while on the road.

May not be using the water pump but may have it on for some reason, as in forgot to turn it off after using it when water was not hooked up yet, or other reasons.

That is why that red light is on, as a reminder.
