I can see why he would say no.

They have to cut a hole for the window in the trailer shell and in the shower liner and those will move independently of one another ( simply by leaning against the shower wall to wash your toes - for instance ).

I'd be worried about water leaking out from around the shower window and on to the outside of the trailer.....

Hi Bill,
When I looked at some 5.0s down here in December, non had bathroom windows. I ask about that and their reply was
"not possible". We ordered our trailer just before Jan. 1, Tammy said it was not an available option. You can thank Marv.
He may have been the first one with factory retro fit. Tammy asked me if I was still interested this week and my reply was yes...do it Tammy. It's a $200.00 option but maybe someday it will standard in the build. I had planned to do my own install after the newness had past. Cause cutting a big hole in the side of your fiberglass trailer with a router is a sceary thing. I have sucessfully installed an outdoor shower in a Casita. You couldn't tell it from the factory option. I suspect there may be a wave of bathroom window installs ahead for Escape Industries. Again, we are happy to get the option during the build.

See you out there somewhere/sometime.

Darn... I also asked for a bathroom window on our newly acquired Escape 19' and was told "no". I really want one though so that I can bring a hose in through the window to flush black tank and for ventalation all the time. The bathroom really needs more ventalation! I am also thinking of putting in a electric exhaust fan and a vent in the door to draw air through the bathroom. Has anyone else done this? If anyone puts a bathroom window in after market I would be very interested in the modification. Glad to see that it will be offerred as a factory option in the future.

Isn't escape like the scamp fifth, scamp will raise the axle and mount the fifth hitch as needed to meet the customer's truck? Scamp will match the install to the truck. Are you saying escape is the opposite? The customer must have a truck that meets the escape fifth height specs? No axle lift offered? Thanks for the clarification.

Hi: gocamp...Yes Escape will add an axle lift. Our 5.0 had a 3" one to fit the GMC Sierra and some small adjustments allowed the Nissan 4X4. The pin box needed to be extended one set of bolt holes and the hitch lowered for the shallower box depth of the Frontier but that was all. Alf

Actually, Marv was sick of me continually asking for a bathroom window, as well as some of our friends. I kind of whined a lot when Reace made his rounds at the rally in Osoyoos.

We were the guinea pigs. Just think if it didn't work out, we would have had a big hole in the side of our trailer. But we had faith in Reace's talent and I wasn't worried.

Actually, not true. Our F150 is 54" at the axle. We had the body lifted two inches for a bit of insurance and now all is great. That big tailgate will open but it is close. If I back straight to the trailer, there is about four inches of clearance. If I come in on an angle, not so much. But the big truck works fine.

Hi: MMarvin... I believe 54" is the maximum you can have, so both of our trucks fit. It must have been the way our hitch and pin box were fit together that made it imposible to leave the tailgate down. Alf

I have put a 5th wheel tailgate on my Ouadcab Dodge 2500 Cummins 2wd in hopes that it will help with hitch up and towing. And a Curt E16 hitch mounted at center axle. I also took almost three inches of leaf spring spacers out to get a lower ride. My bed height is almost 53". I may take my overload springs out and get another 1". I like a level/lower ride for the ease of getting in and out of the vehicle. I know this truck is overkill but I love to go over the big hill in cruise control without a downshift. And know that I can stop or jerk my trailer back out of a sway when I need to. It's a strong vehicle built to tow. About 20mpg with very difference between towing or going 70.

It looks like there's a toggle switch in the dining area just under the seat. What does that switch control?

In my 19' that toggle is the battery disconnect switch.

That's correct...it is the power disconnect which allows you to shutdown all 12vt. I found that the long toggle factory switch could be easy bumped when someone was setting in that area of the dinnete. I have replaced it with a rocker switch.
We had a serious card game going with a couple after dark one night when all the lights suddenly went out. We all busted out laughing about what could transpire in the dark while playing Texas Hold'em.
