Re: HokieEscape Escapes

Doug asked about the stainless splash. Rease installed that for us, and I'm not sure about the $$. Tammy can fill you in on that.

Re: HokieEscape Escapes

I am getting a window installed about the sink, so am going to wait to see whether I will do a full height backsplash. I might either do it with the left over laminte, or maybe get some stainless as well. Reace was saying it was quite an effort to get it right. Stainless scratches real easy.

Hi: HokieEscape... Having a dual fuel water heater...we have never used the propane to heat water. Guess I should do that and check out the exhaust system!!! Looks like I've gotta polish up our S/S backsplash...yours looks so shiny and new!!! Love the new blinds...wish we had 'em.
Keep the great pic's comming.

Hi HokieEscape-

New member. Enjoyed reading your travels. Can't figure how to post to your blog. We are close to buying a 5.0, but need to see
one in person. Would like to see your 5.0 when you get back home. We live 90 miles north of Atlanta, Ga. Tammy suggested
that I contact you through your webb site. Thanks, Floyd

Re: HokieEscape Escapes

Looked for the thread on bathrooms, suction cups, shower curtains to shield the toilet, etc. Couldn't find it! So, now that we've been out for a week, I've got something to add. First a question? Why shield the toilet? It's plastic, so waterproof. The lid (closed) is a great place to sit while you shower, or open if you're a double tasker : - ) Our Escape has lots of head room, so we enjoy our shower, much nicer than our Casita. The gotta have for the shower is a "As Seen On TV", ShamWow! Yep, it wipes those walls, ceilings, toilet lids, and floor (if you don't have Dri-Deck - I've already ordered ours, and can't wait to get them in), and they're dry in a jif.

Nice. Where did you order Dri-Dek? There is no West Marine in the Sacramento Valley.

Hi Sandra, Order direct at http://www.dri-dek.com
Hardest part is deciding on the color. Keeps your feet dry, drains under it well, and in the middle of the night, keeps your feet off the cold shower bottom.

Heh again Sandra,
I forgot to say, they only do a minimum of 12. Our bath floor is 21x29 so I needed 6. If you don't want extras for another use, go to www.amazon.com then type in Dri-Dek. It'll come up with tiles offered by Kendall Products (actually Revival Animal Health) where you can get them for $4.35/each plus shipping. Only problem is, they only sell Almond, Royal Blue, Gray and Hunter Green. I could live with that, so that's where I ordered ours. The bath is ALL WHITE, so I find a little color in there is nice.
One thing about Dri-Dek, some people with real tender feet might not like the grate effect. If so, just use some flip flops (then you'll have them for the occasional camp shower house). We don't find it objectionable. When you get back from your trip, lift them out of the bath, and rinse down the floor, because it might trap hair, etc on the little plastic posts. Real simple. Our order totaled 34.09 with shipping.
