Hi Jim, We have the stock mattress...didn't even think to ask for anything else! However, I do see why some people ask for a narrower mattress. It's a tight fit, for sure, but we don't mind. I think the picture is a little deceptive; it looks like there's more space than there is...maybe because we use big fluffy sleeping bags under the quilt?

Speaking of the bed, thank you to whoever it was on this forum that recommended the vented mattress pad that we use. We give it a : https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Super easy to trim the bottom right corner with a pair of scissors and very comfortable!

Nrgtic4, Thank you but I can't take credit for that cupholder either....must thank whoever here came up with this one, too! -Bea

do you put that between the mattress and a mattress cover? when we tried a topper that way, we found it slid off the mattress over the course of a couple nights and it was a constant fight to keep it aligned.

I would love the solution to the topper sliding down every three nights also. I do not want to give it up but wish it would stay put.

Hi John and jkavanagh, No slippage for us - here’s our method, not sure why it works...just lucky, no doubt!

First, I put a fitted sheet, (full XL) over the mattress. Then the foam topper, then a fitted mattress cover, then a fitted bottom sheet. I like the jersey knit type of sheets since they are stretchy - not sure if these type of sheets make a difference or not. Hope this helps! -Bea
