I'm sure I've missed the discussion, but tell me about micro convection oven. I'm still researching. Which one are you getting. Will you need to pull it out of cabinet to cook? How large is the opening? And power cord is a complete new add on?

Outlet above kitchen counter
Steven M, I noticed you have a 120 volt outlet between the cabinets above your kitchen counter. Did you have a specific use in mind for this outlet? We are working on where to put additional outlets for our Escape 21.

Richard, Nothing specific in mind to plug in, simply that my wife wanted another plug by the kitchen counter. I'm a klutz and walk into things (or so says the wife) and she wanted the plug away from harm and me sweeping something expensive off the counter. We wanted it placed in the upper cabinet, at the back, facing down. After originally being told that was ok, Tammy or Sarah got back to us and said that they couldn't do it and we decided that where you see it was the best place for the outlet.
I have learned the hard way that one must read the build sheet and check that any specific locations be specifically mentioned in the build sheet or standard locations are used.
Not ETIs fault just what seems to have occurred as I didn't read my build sheet and the outside shower that I wanted placed at the back of passenger side was simply placed on the passenger side. That was all the build sheet says, outside passenger side. Live and learn.

You might want to double check on which way they put the door in for the microwave cabinet. We didn't get the microwave so they installed the door. However it flips up instead of side to side. I don't know if that's standard, but it did surprise me since it wasn't at the very top.
and yay, congrats! Safe drive up there to get it.

I noticed that as well and was wondering about it. Bummer they couldn't install it under the cabinet since they already wire for a light under the cabinet. And it seems like every RV we looked at, before settling on the Escape, had their outlet under the cabinet.
Congrats on getting it all done. Safe travels to get it!

I wish more people would post build pictures. They are still my favorite part of the forum.

Steven M,
The outside shower on the curb side has to be near the water lines under the sink, thus that is where it has to be placed, there are no water lines in the rear curb side, that is where your battery is located.

Hi Ginger! The convection microwave is a Contoure brand that we are getting from O'Connor RV just up the road from ETI. Reace has all the dimensions from the instructions and is building the cabinet to fit it. We're also putting in a flush mount cooktop above it. Keeping fingers crossed that everything fits properly. I don't recall the exact dimensions that the instructions called for but it did require a pretty good amount of cabinetry restructuring. Our sink will be back by the dinette and the cooktop/microwave toward the door. Kitchen window is also moved back a bit to be over the sink. We had a convection microwave in our Casita and absolutey loved it so we were pretty excited when Reace said he would give it a go. For dry camping we have found the WeberQ grill to double as an adequate little oven so we have that requirement met but gotta have the chocolate chip cookies or brownies at night!

Laura, yes, good point. Our build sheet specifically says that door is to open the same direction as the wardrobe door. We're half serious about seeing if a wine cooler will fit in that space. Even though we moved it down it still has to have an outlet inside it so what the heck!
