Did you get your Scamp sold?

We were worrying about the hassles of selling our Casita, but the first person to answer our ad bought it. It went quick! Fiberglass RV’s are the way to go, in getting them sold, and getting the best return for the dollar.

Gramps,
I agree. Our Casita also sold within 24hrs, to the first person to look at it! Hopefully I can get many years of enjoyment from the Escape and when the time comes, the selling process will be the same as the Casita.

David,
Maybe the hardest part for us was staying calm as we approached the border crossing. When we pulled up to the officers, they asked the usual 1st question. We said we're going to Chilliwack to get our new trailer and..", they interrupted (after seeing all the stuff in the back of the SUV), and laughingly said to go get your new Escape!

I wonder how many new Escapes per week they see at Sumas?

One more day till it’s done!

We have some new photos today. Not quite everything is finished, but tomorrow is the original day for final build; the day we could pick it up.

I like the light fabric color. I ordered something from JT's called Monroe Pewter and on the computer it appears similar, at least I hope so. jn

I'm glad I order the maple. Who knows about the white balance setting in the camera but it looks really more toward the 'white' side. I like that. Especially juxtaposing it with the counter top. I glad I didn't listen to CPA Harley and stuck with the stock flooring. Hahaha.

I do not believe that is the stock flooring shown?

You made it through customs without a hitch (hah). We’ve heard a few deep search scenarios, and have even thought about leaving our gear at the hotel, to enable a fast (but rare) search routine. Greatest probability of none though.

Betcha that you’re going to like Monroe Pewter.

I was good with the ETI standard, reasoning that it’s only cosmetic. But that choice was overridden. Of course, I’m going to praise the boss for her fantastic choice.

So many different color temperature of lights to overwhelm the eye. Overhead shop lighting, that enters kitchen window, has a cool tint, while interior has warmer tint. Then, the phone’s camera color correction is probably an “I dunno” tint. I’m told that the vinyl is warmer than the pictures.

I thought the stock floor was pretty close, and very acceptable.

Yes we knew last year we wanted an Escape. We sold our Scamp within a month maybe of it being on here. But then we waited like 5 to 6 more weeks I think for the new owner to pick it up. He gave us a deposit , right away. And the balance whe he came to get it. All the way from Colorado. Sight unseen except our pictures. I also helped install the hitch in his truck. We love fiberglass rv’s.

Well, it was supposed to be finished on the 13th of April. It’s close though, on everything but the windows,tv mount, and the faucet which hasn’t yet been installed. Windows were on backorder, but may be in now, or soon.

Good thing we didn’t go to pick it up yesterday, as we originally planned.

It’s parked outside with the window holes taped up until they get the shipment.

I assume you ordered the frame style windows and they are back ordered?

No, the Frame-less Thermal Windows (Includes Opening Rear Window). That included Opening Window in Bathroom (Frame-less Thermal). But ETI changed my order during the build cycle. Now I get a non-thermal window for the bathroom. Evidently the small windows are going to be framed. That’s an unwanted late change.

Most of those who ordered recently, are aware of the change in window manufacturers, and that the new manufacturing company is not making the small thermal window for the bathroom. The non-thermal windows appear to be framed.

So we get a conglomerate hodgepodge of different window types. Hopefully not too visible from the curbside, entrance approach—for the bathroom window. Otherwise, it’s going to stick out; undesirably. If you want the same looks, all around, then order the non-thermal. But you might have a bit of condensation, or issue with heating and cooling in extreme temperatures.

Glad I didn’t order small windows for the street side (if the appearance is off).

Last week when I got my supposedly finished trailer pictures for my 21' I saw the three dinette windows plus the kitchen window (frameless) were not installed. When asked my salesperson told me they ran out of windows and were waiting for new orders to come in. Yesterday she replied that they just got the new windows shipment.

I'm betting the weather plays havoc when trying to restock. Trying to estimate how long products will last, when to re-order and then storing until use... those dang logistics things.

I would have thought with financial backing that ordering for months vs weeks would take place...maybe we just did not know about what happened in the past?
