I had seen the new trailer design when I voiced my observation that there was a reduction in the volume of the overhead cabinets along the awning side. Even for soft items like t-shirts and towels, you will not be able to get the same quantity/volume of items into the new upper cabinet, awning side, as you can in the older model trailers. I did not measure the bottom depth of the new cabinets but it appeared to be about the same in the old and new design.

A different look cannot offset the volume reduction. An owner may be willing to give up some volume to obtain a different look/function but that is totally different than saying the volume loss is offset. Seeing is believing.

The volume reduction in a 19' may be less of an issue than in a 17' where you have less storage volume to start with. I know I would certainly miss that volume in our 15' if they were still producing them in 2017 as that is where I store most of my clothes and I usually have that upper cabinet, awning side, stuffed full. That being said, I do need to learn to take less clothes though!!

Good for you! It will be done faster than you think.

I wonder if that light on the front of yours is standard. We had a light added up high on the front and one at the back that had to be put at the middle like yours (due to high standard exterior lights in the way). They cost a bundle for installation but we use those lights.

thanks for the onsite info...kinda guessed it from the available pics and yes storage space vs new awning design requirements is for each camper to decide. like you said maybe less clothes is the solution...

No, the light on front is extra. We thought it might be a good idea for accessing the front box or the truck at night. We have one interior light switched, the porch light switched, and the front and port side switched together. I thought about a rear light but I think I can use a headlight for something.

I had the front light on my last 2 Escapes, reminds me to add one to my present build list....one each prt and starboard are standard now, with the curb side light on a switch. Have to decide on amber versus clear for lenses....

In photo #3 it looks like there's a new 2017 model two trailers over. Kind of hard to tell, but it very well could be! Good to know some of them are starting to come through the production line, if it really is a 2017 model.

There have been something like three 19's and a 17 go through production. There was a new 19 at the rally, other than the one's that Reace and Tammy brought.

I have been looking for some light counter tops. Do you mind me asking what choice did you make on counter tops><?

It looks like they're starting to produce the 17 and 19 in the 2017 version. Heck, ETI has even sold a few directly. I don't know if they were made especially for sale or if buyers backed out or what.

What I do know is that our 21 was going to be one of the last ones out of the factory in 2016. They gave us a due date of end of December, although we were told it should be done earlier due to increased production. Latest I've been told is they'll know more by the end of the summer if we'll get it any earlier than end of Dec.

We opted to switch over to the 2017 model, so ours won't be one of the last 2016 models. Heck if I know if any others around our date switched. I'm assuming that everyone that ordered with a due date after ours will be automatically getting the 2017 version, since they weren't able to order until April 1st. (ETI posted about an unexpected opening and we jumped on it - thanks to Stephen99.)

What I would find of interest would be at what point they let buyers of the 2016 version switch over to the 2017 version for their 21' order. I know someone getting their 5.0TA later this month was told theirs was too earlier in the queue to switch over (which they didn't want to do anyway). And, at what point can those buyers switch their order around? Inquiring minds want to know!

if Escape is shipping 2017 models, what are they selling here in the last two Escape direct listings
2016, Escape 17’, Plan B (VIN#069) $27,725.00 CAD
This trailer includes all of our 2017 Standard Features
------
2016, Escape 19’, (VIN#181) $34 930.00 CAD
This trailer includes all of our 2017 Standard Features

Is the second line in both listings a misprint as in "2017 features" on a 2016 model body?...or is the 1st line "2016" a misprint?

How does a 2016 model body get 2017 features?

Not sure what they were actually selling in those two direct sales, but I guess whomever bought them knows. However if there were going to be more of these it would be nice to know...
