They get the moulds by November 15, and expect the first one to be near done before Christmas, thus my planned visit December 19.

Are you considering a move up to the 2017 5.0 TA, Kate?

I was interested in what Santiago is doing with the refrigerator until I realized that for every unit of cold air it produces inside the fridge it will vent a somewhat larger amount of hot air into the trailer. Most of the time that is OK in BC, Alberta and the Colorado Rockies where heat is often needed, but in southern Utah without hookups it could be uncomfortable.

Like Santiago I am not planning to get the roof mounted A/C. Therefore I can imagine sometime stopping at a rest stop along the highway and realizing that, while it is cooling off outside, the heat coming from the black asphalt combined with heat generated from the inside refrigerator make it harder to cool off the trailer. Then I think about the additional work and cost of the refrigerator, extra batteries, high tech charging and wiring system while I am sweating and trying to get some sleep. I agree with Santiago, "I would not go through the trouble and expense ... not worth it."

That trailer is beautiful though and I will probably go with the silver or grey graphics.

Hi, I do expect heat to be generated and estimated it at 140 btu/hr more or less as the fridge will need 2.6 amps at 50% cycling and that's like 40 watts/hr. I figure the Maxx fan will do a nice job of bringing in cooler outside air. I also know that the sun beating on the shell alone will heat the cabin. Maxx fan to the rescue ! The RFU 6800 is roughly $1,200 USD. Two LifeLine AGM 6 volt totaling 400 amp-hr mounted over the axles about $1,100 USD. The factory 12volt lead acid battery in a box now mounted in the far rear will be taken out, not needed. Will use existing charger, nothing else to buy. Labor is free. Yes its work and expense but I like having a compressor fridge.

We like the grey graphics as well. Added to order at last minute as originally it was to be totally naked. The subtle color was a compromise.

Yes I am but I keep going back to a 19 or 21. But every time I see a 5.0 I'm in love. One more trip to make up my mind.

I now remember you mentioning that you were considering upsizing at Nehalem. Best of luck deciding what to do.

I can't wait to see the new 5.0 TA molds. I ordered one, even though I have never seen the inside of an Escape trailer other than pics on this forum and ETI's website.

You and many others! I have not ordered one yet, but will be traveling up to ETI next April to see it in person. Flights, hotel and appointment with ETI already set.

As this will be a retirement related purchase as so many others have done. I'm not in big hurry to place an order yet. Plus when I do order I would like to have a April or May pickup time frame.

Anxiously waiting to see first photo's though!

Where do you fly in to, and what hotel? And what are you doing for ground transportation?
My build sheet date is June 19 and I plan a visit in April.

No doubt though that you gathered the confidence from the all the other happy campers here. Heck, I was in your shoes in 2009, putting a deposit on a 19, a model that did not have a single one made yet. Just from chatting with Reace when he was planning it, and talking to two happy 17 owners, I just took the leap of faith. Glad I did.

I will be flying into Seattle on Alaska airlines from Bozeman on Thursday April 20th early AM, our company has an FBO at SEATAC and I can pick up a rental car dirt cheap.

Will drive up to ETI that morning. I know about the hotel next to ETI, but I will be staying at Holiday Express Suites about 30 miles West of ETI. They are my preferred hotel and have ton of points with them.

Will spend afternoon at ETI on Thursday and some time on Friday to cover anything I missed, thought of after previous days visit.

After my ETI visit I will visit Pioneer possibly Trademasters and any other vendors I may find relevant to Escape 5.0TA. After that some site seeing.

Will drive back down to Seattle Sunday morning and spend the night at airport holiday express and fly back home early Monday morning.

Plan on

Walt,
You could always attend the rally in late May, see all the Escape models in detail and turn in your build sheet in person to Tammy or Reace. Your Bigfoot wold blend in.

Or Sarah. She was there last year.

I just turned my build sheet in yesterday, and an addendum of other things. Then there is the list of things to do once the trailer gets home.

Depends on your eyes, I do not like the cool white and replaced my bulbs with warm white. I believe they are now standard with warm white. They are nice accent lights though.

I like to read by them. Nice to point the light right where you need it. It seemed kind of redundant to have them in the corners not far from the other lights but I'm glad I got them.

The rims and tires are exactly the same size ETI uses on the stock wheels they provide.

What is the stock rim size for a 2017 - 19 footer? Thanks

Should be 15x6. ETI website indicates they are still running a 205/75 R15 tire.

Reace verified this (15x6) for me at the Rally. I'm running the aluminum rims. I'm looking to move up a size using the new Goodyear Endurance.
