We did have a reservation for the 19 originally, but after thinking what's another 2 feet, we went for the gusto. We also have grandkids and 2 weenies.

Congrats on grabbing the cancellation. We had the same luck! Went from 8 months in 2014 to 2 when we sold our Casita 6 months earlier. Awesome feeling.

Way to go! Nice meeting you both at Catalina S.P. last year. Seem to remember you had never seen an Escape before. You will love that set up in the 21- very flexible in having two beds for the grandkids. Would advise the Springfield for easy conversion or two filler boards that easily stow under the main bed.

We also went from a 19 to the 21. Over the weekend Charlie Y (tractors1) showed us his 21' trailer and we were sold! Changed models yesterday and we were still able to keep our 5 Apr 2017 date. And the fabric and formica we have ordered will still work. Now we only have to finish our Build Sheet and wait until Spring.

Three weeks to go

Here's what a 19 looks like three weeks before pickup.

Hey Hugh... Interesting change for the light switches. Did you request the switches be moved off the door jam and placed on the upper cupboard?

I must have missed it too. When I asked Escape about putting the switches there, I was told that they didn't know and would have to ask Reace. He said sure, why not.

They have been putting the switches on the upper cabinets for nearly a year now. Maybe knowing they would not be able to go on the door jamb anyway, once the new moulds were done prompted it.

Glad I got a Classic build more and more. Being able to turn lights on without needing to step into the trailer is for me.

Looking at things from afar and with little time on this thread it looks to me that those having bought the classic will love their choice more and more. Those of us with little or no experience with the escape will be thrilled with the new version as we begin to pick up our 2017's. In the end happy is relative.

Bruce, you have it exactly right. There's an old saying "You can never miss what you've never had."

Here's what ours look like (pic posted in the "Secret customizations or standard options" thread). Of course this was September 2015.

after looking at those inside construction pics again of the 2016 models...betting those Escape woodworkers are going to have a much easier job with the flat sides of the 2017 models....

It will be a bit easier, though templates will still be needed to be made and used for all the cabinetry components. What it will do though, is to give a bit more space at the top and bottom where the earlier moulds curved inward.
