We're not exactly planning a route other than heading Northwest after a family visit in Kentucky. There is so much of the U.S. that we have not seen and we want to eventually see most of it.
See you at Nk'Mip,

Watch for two old-timers in a red Tundra with Escambia plates and a truck bed full of camping gear - we're leaving Florida on the 18th and heading Northwest, probably by way of Denver. Our family visit will be in Oregon. We pick up our trailer June 3rd, then on to Nk'Mip.

I have visions of 100 Escapes leaving Osoyoos on Monday, heading in all directions and corners of the US/Canada.

Yell out to our kids in Denver as you go by...we're heading up from Florida through South Dakota and Montana. We'll be in a Black RAM 1500 with the truck bed full as well. Bob keeps reminding me that they "do have stores" where we're going and that we don't need the "kitchen sink". (he's remembering days gone by when I could fill our tent trailer and a Dodge Maxi Van)

I will be interested in how your 2008 Highlander does with the 21' unit. We tow a 3500# TrailManor 2720SD with our 2006 Highlander Hybrid and are considering an Escape 21'. The Hybrid's towing capacity is downgraded to 3500# from the standard 5000#. I wonder if that is too conservative. The chassis should handle it; it has the same engine. However the transmission changes to CVT.
This was meant for RickM who posted pictures of his yet to be delivered 21.

Duginda, our Highlander does a fine job pulling the 21. The only difference is about two mpg lower pulling the 21 than the 19. Bear in mind my Highlander Limited is the regular 6 cylinder version.
In looking at the '08 sales brochure, without the tow package the regular version is rated for 2,000 pounds ( I could have sworn it was 3,500). With the tow package, 5,000 pounds. The hybrid version is 3,500 pounds.

For us they are non-thermal, opening windows in the loft.
Thermals were not an option for the loft if we wanted them to open.

Okay Alf, why don't you have the upper hatch on the exterior under the loft?
And Stargeezer, are you getting some sort of "hutch" with shelves instead of a cupboard next to the refrigerator?
It looks like the furnace is now under the "cupboard" next to the refrigerator instead of under the dinette?
I'm getting dizzy looking at these wonderful pictures. OMG I love Friday!

Hi: Donna D... Maybe because we can't pick up right away? I don't know the mind of Reace. He may have chosen to add ours later when he has more stock!!! I noticed some cupboard doors not installed yet also... but "Ain't she sweet". Alf

I'm curious on the spare tire mountings - are they on a support off the bumper? I've ordered a 21 - same or different?
