Thanks, it was one of the items I was pulled both ways on, after running it by the boss I went with the thermals. As you can tell I'm still 2nd guessing. Suppose I can have them changed out down the road if need be.

I'm not concerned.

The big thing for me (as a currently single-paned window all molded towable owner) was to get away from condensation during the shoulder and winter season(s).
Hi: Donna D... SORRY!!! I never thought to express my views on double glazing. I didn't want to be a "Double pain in the ascend". We did get the double insulation though.
We always run the MaxxFan... or sleep with it open to rid the 5.0 of excess flatulence!!! Alf

I hear ya, but know I must wait a few years until retirement to amke the 5.0TA a reality, should it even be in the cards.

Good tip about a potential issue to watch for. Like Donna, I'm not concerned. I have a non-moulded fifth-wheel with double-glazed windows, and have no problem with failures of the sealed units.

I suspect that hammering over urban potholed steets for several hours a day, every day, was a much harder life for those bus windows than a travel trailer typically has.

I took the liberty of starting a new thread to pull this towing topic out of the Friday photo updates thread:
Toyota Highlander Hybrid and Escape 21'?

A moderator could do a nicer job of this by moving posts rather than just quoting them.

You're earlier pictures of the Dobbs Express are great. I've been hoping for some early pictures with details. They provide much needed information about where ETI runs wires, water lines, and how the insulation is placed. Thanks for the photos. It looks like an extra cutout was taken from the window over your bed, (lower right of the window cutout) or am I just seeing things?

Smile Front Window?

Hi,
If you're referring to the light black line underneath the cabinet over the bed on the Dobbs Express, I'm not sure what that is. There is no window on that will. All I can think of is a reference marker for placement of the narrow mic-nac shelf that will be installed there. But, I could be all wrong about that too. Not sure...

I'll let you know in about 15 more days. Not that I'm counting or anything!

Best,

Dobbs Express, The window I"m talking about is in pictures 1, 2, & 4 of 4 in your post. It is located on the opposite wall to the bathroom wall on the drivers side over the bed. It looks like there's a large notch cut out at the lower right corner of the window.

Hi Tom,

Hmm. Not sur what that is. The pictures are low res so I can't get any definition when I zoom. I'm not sure what wires would be over there either. Maybe others have an idea ...

Hi: TAfraser... I think those notches are the supports for the RV blind cords. There's a plate with the buttons on them that form around the corners of the windows. The blind cords fasten to the buttons. Alf

There is also a big old fluorescent light with brackets in the window.

Jim, you've got good eyes. The picture is low resolution so when I zoom in it gets too blurred to make anything out, but a fluorescent light makes total sense. Thanks guys, I can now move on to the next mystery, whatever it may be.

ETI sent the Friday pictures a day early - I wonder if they are having a long weekend because of Victoria Day, on Monday?

Anyway, here are the first four, (of the eight), week 4 pictures of our new trailer.
