I heard back from Crystal- the roll on the floor is indeed the leftover Formica and the doors for the under-sink cabinet are coming.

That is far more Formica than we'll ever need. I was thinking I'd transport a few scraps home under the mattress. I'll see if they can stow some there for me.

I'm sure getting antsy to get out there to pick up. It looks so wonderful there now with no snow and lots of sunshine. I wouldn't be surprised if they say no as the shop isn't all that big and they are probably busy enough keeping track of the inventory of different laminates and fabrics for trailers in production. Nonetheless, it doesn't hurt to ask.

Maybe they can cut the laminate into smaller chunks and you can tape it together to fit inside the closet? Or cut it to "table" size and tape it to the top of the dinette table... covered with cardboard... or something.

Now wait a minute, Karen. Chilliwack has some good views. There's Sumas Peak NW of Chilliwack, at 900m+ (about 2950 ft.)
Then there's Sumas Mt., WA south of Chilliwack, at 1041m (3415').
Then a little farther south there's a real one: Mt. Baker (1894m)(6214').

I think cutting to fit is a good idea... but the big available space is under the mattress as originally planned, so it would likely only need to be cut once to fit under there.

Thanks. We can't pick up until May but we have blocked off the time from then until the end of June to explore on the way home. Plus we have several friends on the islands along the BC coast. We'll do some good wandering before we come back across those big mountains.

Crystal got back to me about the big roll of Formica on the floor of the 5.0TA. She said they were doing year-end clean up around the shop and were able to make the majority of our counters from scrap they had laying around so only used a small portion of the sheet they bought for us.

I'm surprised that many other customers chose the same counter top Formica as us or, rather, we chose the same as them. Anyway, she said they'd fit the leftovers under the mattress to transport home.

Good for us they do! Between the time we picked our color (Metal Sun) and the actual visit to ETI, Formica discontinued it, and pulled it off their website. Luckily, the shop who supplies ETI still had a sheet from a previous order.

OMG! Sent a Christmas Card to ETI and just got a nice reply. In the PS, they said our trailer entered production on the 23rd. One week early.

Very Nice. You'll really like the front box too. I wish they did that when I got mine, and I know I can change it, but I have front hatches that would be covered. The choice for a U shaped dinette is also a neat idea. Thanks for sharing as it helps with understanding the infrastructure.
