Maiden Voyage Escape 21

Newbie at trailering going Anacortes to Ventura. Presently in a small county park north of Ventura enjoying our new 21. Photo of our great view out our rear window as the salt spray from the surf hits it. Love it in the rain and wind. This is a shake-down before our trip back to New Brunswick next August. Learning a good deal about how long systems lasts and what I want to add. Ran across this other photo on FB. Those Airstream guys are another breed.

Remember when you had to see it to believe it?
Remember when you could go to the web for facts and information?

Reminds me of the time the newspaper I worked for did an advance story on a transit strike to take place Monday. They illustrated it with a PhotoShop picture showing multi-lane highway jammed with cars ( that was Saturday ).
On the Monday, photo was assigned to shoot a picture to illustrate the 'traffic jam'. Needless to say, we couldn't come up with anything as dramatic.
I think it was about that time that I decided to take the buyout.

This gets quickly into a philosophical discussion of "what is truth". For this level of "truthiness" I'm just happy to enjoy the fun and creativity.

Looks like Faria? Hope you got a nice sunset picture from your back window. How long have you been on the road?
Your second picture reminds me of my grandmother's stories of going to Yosemite on the narrow road. The car traveling downhill had to back up until the car going up hill could pass.

Have a safe trip! Enjoy California!

Nice trip!
We did the coast to Laguna Beach in February.

Hello Dave & Terri- met you both in Monterey, although it was a little brief as we were hitching up to head home. Congratulations on your new land yacht!

Hi Ross,

We did make it to Morro but rushed through. We had plans to invite you down for a glass but biked through town, saw the otters, and picked up some tuna sashimi. The next thing I remember we were driving south all too soon. If you make it up to Anacortes give a yell. I'll take you sailing. The San Juan islands and our home town are incredibly beautiful.

Yes this is Faria. We were down to 1/3 on the battery and needed to recharge. Great place but we may be too close to the surf. A few minutes ago the trailer was splashed by the surf. We'll next head to Emma Woods State Park for a few days. We've only been on the road a few weeks but may be heading back north soon to visit our son in Bend, OR. Then back home to get back into other life. We've totally enjoyed the ESCAPE and feel right at home. I'm surprised how much I have to unhook to get into spots. That electric winch looks pretty good right now.

Wow! That would be awesome! We're heading up to Chilliwack mid-May....

btw- Foster Park is a little county park about 12 miles inland from you off hwy 33 in the oaks. Full hookups for $30/night. Ojai is a cool little artist enclave, you might enjoy.

I can't be the only one who has been on "roads" remarkably similar to that one?

One of the most dangerous roads in the world is the Yungas Road in Bolivia, which was also pictured on one of the British "Top Gear" episodes. Looked like a crazy dangerous place to drive.

Ross, When you get close, give a yell. We'll check out Ojai. If there are other ESCAPERS wanting a contact in our area or information, get in touch.

Thanks. I nearly got hosed this morning. Wave splash covered the back window and bikes. We decided to move to a dryer spot at this site now that all our systems are a go. Nice to know things will improve. Presently having a cold one with chips and basking in the warm sun. I'm going to have to come back to this place next winter.
