New Sapele wood table

Here is our new Sapele wood table that Ned just finished. I love it! He rounded off the corners to a softer radius.

The flooring is standard ETI linoleum.

Hi: Carla Jean... Doesn't that red light in the power converter mean a "Blown" fuse? Alf

Very cool. Never heard of Sapele before and learned about it with the Google. Native African wood that is used as a substitute for mahogany and by many guitar makers for its tonal qualities.

Yes, Alf, the red light meant blown fuse, replaced.

Thanks for the nice compliments on the table everyone. The Sapele wood table was a replacement for the small Formica table that someone made but didn’t work out. In addition, our Formica has been discontinued. (Pays to buy extra!) We found this beautiful piece of wood at Edensaw, our exotic wood place here in Port Townsend. We still have the full size ETI table, but wanted a table small enough for lounging, but still needed a small table. For the wine, spirits, of course.

Hi: Carla Jean... Yes... Sapele wood is used in the manufacture of Guitars. With your exotic wood table you should be able to make "Beautiful music". Alf

Looks great! I've seen Sapele used in kayak builds as well. Excellent wood for the kind of damp environments one often finds under, uh, coasters.

Carla Jean your table looks terrific! We are in "table decision mode" right now for our build sheet on our 21. Can you tell me the dimensions of your table. Also you mentioned you still have the full size ETI table. With the Springfield pedestal are table tops interchangeable / removable? I wish I had the talent that Ned has to make my own table but I'm going to have to leave my table making to ETI. Thanks again for sharing your table photos. It is a work of art.
