Kitchen Faucets - tell me about yours

We are thinking about adding a different kitchen faucet to our trailer. We are considering a high arch single lever faucet, on our last visit to the Escape factory, Rease mentioned that other trailers with single lever faucets come back with an elastic to hold the lever in the closed position.

Has anyone else installed these? I am wondering if it only happens with faucets where they open with the lever moving downwards.

A single lever may be nice, but the hassle putting on an elastic or having water leak.

Supply lines on some faucets are very long. In an RV if these lines are looped or something that would give a place for water to collect with the problems for winterizing. From the diagrams it seems that these supply lines can be removed and then short pieces of pex can be added for connection to the trailer plumbing system. Is my thinking correct?

Thanks in advance.

Brett

Hi: islandr...Our hot water tap squeaks and squeals when used... but at least doesn't require a rubber band fix. So far we haven't created a man made lake either. I did however change the spigot to a high arc after having our 5.0 for one season. Alf

Our tap is not high, but does fold into the sink so we can close the flush glass cover for more counter space, which often is a huge bonus.

This is a pic of our sink stove combo. We quite like it.

Wow,
I like your sink, Jim, I wish I had know Reace offered that option, I had one in my T@da. Does it have electric ignition?

It is not an offered option, just something I had requested. It does have electronic ignition.

The sink is a bit small, but suffices for what we need. Dishes will sit in it no problem. Most times we use a plastic dishpan anyway, as that way we can do them outside, and not fill the holding tank as quick.

Jim do you have a picture of your sink and stove installed in your trailer? Do you have one with the cover up and down? What is the name of the manufacturer?

We were thinking of a high arch because it is easier to put a bucket under it to take water outside for dishes and other tasks. Although the access to more counter space the stove/sink combo Jim has is appealing.

I believe they are imported from Dometic of Sweden. SMEV is the European manufacturer- here is an example of a model
SMEV S/S 2 burner hob/sink l/h P.ign 800 x 320 from Camper-Parts.Net
here is one with cover - stove only- in US http://panther-rvproducts.com/SMEV-8...2US-8022US.htm

No, I don't have a photo of it installed. When I next go by my storage garage where the trailer is parked for the winter, I can take a shot. HERE is a link to it, it is made by Dometic. The US Trillium's that Reace was making for a short while used them.

I can tilt the wash basin under the tap and 2/3 fill it, or I can use our outdoor shower too.

I had looked at SMEV offerings, but none of the ones I found had CSA approval, so Escape could not legally install them.

Good point, never thought they may violate some rule. Oh, well.
