The magazine racks were a great idea! I may steal the idea of acrylic mirrors - I had no idea such a thing existed and currently am hoping that my mirror tiles adhered with double sided sticky tape don't come crashing off.
You have a great trailer!

Don - I ordered directly from the website and had it shipped to "Ship Happens" in Sumas, Washington.

Ship Happens - locations

The shipping is cheaper and quicker with a US address and ship happens only charges $5.00 per parcel. I wasn't charged anything at the border either. (It also gives me an excuse to cruise down to Bellingham for the day!)

CAUTION WILL ROBINSON!

I noticed you have a Dri-Z-Air canister sitting in the sink (good choice btw), BUT do yourself a HUGE favor and put it inside a plastic tub (like the kind you use to wash dishes on the picnic table). If the water overflows in the sink, it will PIT the stainless. Much, much better to be safe than sorry!

Our new Escape

Actually Donna, that was the Dri-Z-Air canister from our tool shed. We bought one of those stainless steel marine canisters for our Escape. Talked to some boating friends that swear by them so we bought one at the RV show. Ours is mounted vertically on the side of the wardrobe. Seems to work great - when the inside changes to pink, you just place it in the oven to reactivate it. Good warning though - I've heard about people forgetting they left the Dri-Z-Air container on the counter and ended up with a bad spill or stain.

Please tell me more about the stainless steel marine canister you use for your Dri-Z-Air. Sounds like a great idea. Can you tell me the brand name and places I might find such a thing other than at an RV show? Posting a picture would be great too. Thank you.

This is my first post. I will be picking up my beautiful Escape 15A next May,

They are called H20out and were sold at the Chilliwack RV show last year - the exhibitor was Wright Mariner Supply.

H2Out Space Dryers: Available in 4 sizes. Perfect for removing moisture from boats, cars, RV's, tents, garages and homes. Can be reactivated indefinitely, easy to use and no risk of spillage.

It was not cheap - we got a large one and I think it was around $100 but we figured it was a lot easier, safer and cheaper in the long run than the Dri-Z-Air. Looks nice too! Seems to do a good job but as a few have stated, breathing in any confined space adds the most moisture so unless you're prepared to stop breathing, they'll always be some moisture present.

Thank you so much for the information!
I found them on Amazon. Now I just have to decide
how many & what size for my little 15.

The counter tops are Formica brand:
Pattern color is "Mineral Jet" with a Radiance finish 3450-RD.

My color scheme was black, grey and cream so I wanted a laminate that pulled all my colors plus I wanted black edging for my trims - I supplied that.

We have one canister and picked the larger size recommended for the cubic area of our 17B. Here's a picture of it mounted below our magazine rack.

I will agree with everything except cheaper. Dri-Z-Air canisters are less than $10 and the crystals, if purchased on sale, are $1. I use 2-3 bags a year. It would take about 30 years of using Dri-Z-Air to equal one of those $100 products. And the Dri-Z-Air canisters never wear out.

But Donna, these look so much nicer, sometimes you pay for "flair". I find those cheaper, plastic tub style you put in your sink and fill with crystals are messy to handle, these just look so pretty while working.

Oh, Jim... I know all about "flair," I think I'm the queen! Two weeks ago, I spent $171.50 for a BOTTLE opener for my trailer

When it's time Jim, I'll post in a separate topic... probably in the Spring. Don't want to trash someone else's topic...

Moisture Canisters

Donna:

Up here in Canada, the plastic Dri-z-air containers run $12-15 each and the crystals around $4 a bag so it doesn't take long to add up. My H20 never has to be emptied and there are no worries concerning spillage or mounting. And like cpaharley says, it looks way nicer too.

Now about that $171 can opener - I assume you cook your beans in a gold pot?

I don't get it. If the H2O never has to be emptied out, what does it do? Evaporate?

BTW. I bought a gallon jug of the crystals for about $10. Lasts two or three years.

When the desiccant inside turns from blue to pink, you can re-activate it by placing the container in the oven for a couple of hours.

On a side note, I spoke with a guy that uses these in his secured storage locker for his gun collection. He told me that his game butcher uses them in his commercial freezers.
