Re: Our new Escape
Bonnie:
I purchased the fabric at Fabricana in Coquitlam. It's an upholstery material in tones of black and brown with a little beige and grey. It's a weave so the colors are very muted. I wanted something that wouldn't be an issue with patterns or lines. I also purchased several yards more than I needed in case I wanted to make pillows or window toppers later. Everything has a shelf life and fabrics, flooring etc. get discontinued quickly so I made sure to buy extra. Upholstery fabric can be pricey - This one was on sale for $14.00 a square yard, half the regular price. (I remember years ago buying upholstery material for a chair I was recovering and I paid $60.00 a square yard). So this was a deal in my eyes and easier to justify ordering extra. Whatever you choose, consider how it will react to sitting on it - pull and stretch the fabric to see that it moves without creating gaps etc. The fabric store person is probably best to consult about it's suitability for use in a trailer. I've enclosed a picture of it to give you a better idea.
Speaking of cost, the vinyl flooring was the most expensive of the things I supplied. I didn't want the stock "blotchy" looking beige vinyl and had a hard time finding something that had the blacks, browns and greys I wanted in it. Finally found a commercial vinyl with a more graphic design in it. I needed a 9'x12' piece and the lowest price I could get was just under $400.00 A bit costly but it's there for a long time so worth it to me.
Are you planning on attending the Rally in June?

Re: Our new Escape
Thanks for the link and photo's. Like Jim I will be ordering one or two of the magazine racks. Also the help on fastening will be most useful. My 19 is in deep storage just now, so I cannot decide where I will install these but mounting on the wall takes some thought and planning. I did not order any special reinforced wall or mounting blocks so I need to see what is available.
From your description it does not appear you did anything from the inside of the wall. Not that you could, short of removing the refrigerator. Since you had blocks in some places you could rely on those. I have never mounted anything on the faux wood walls on the Escape. I cannot recall their thickness. I would assume many of them are as thin as possible to save weight or are using composite or particle board. Screwing into that has some issues.

Re: Our new Escape
The only thing screwed in the reinforced panels are the coat hooks and the TV remote. All the other wall pouches, accessories and the magazine rack are screwed through the regular panels. These panels are only about 1/8" thick veneer so it's important to pre-drill your holes or you could split the veneer. The pouches are mounted by screws inserted from inside the cabinet panels. We used a flat washer behind the screw head to broaden the surface area. They are super solid and no way will they fall off. If you are in doubt, you can always mount a small strip of wood on the inside of the cabinet so you have more "bite" for the screws. My advice is plan first and always check both sides before you make any hole - you wouldn't want to inadvertently drill through some wiring!

Hi, just wondering what colour the decals are on the outside of your trailer?

Re: Our new Escape
The decals on the outside of our trailer are "Graphics Silver 6770".
The first grey I looked at appeared too light when I took the samples outside so I went to the next darker one.

Re: Our new Escape
Like the interior, including the mirror above the stove. How is the mirror mounted - did you ask for something built-in, or did you add support after the fact?

Re: Our new Escape
I had Reace put horizontal supports in while the trailer was being constructed - I wanted the option of mounting a back splash panel or other accessories later on. I ended up putting a mirror there because I like the reflection it gives - almost acts like a window. The mirror is acrylic so my hubby drilled holes for the screws and I put caps over the screw heads so it looks more custom. I didn't want the hood fan over the stove - it's not necessary because of the "super" Maax fan and I think the hood fan visually cramps the space. At night, the mirror helps reflect light from the overhead lights.
We also mounted an acrylic mirror on the inside of the bathroom door. I was concerned about breakage because my husband will be using the trailer mostly off grid and will often be driving on gravel back roads.

Where did you find the acrylic mirrors? All I can find online are sheet rolls or cartons of sheets; either way, it's way too much product.

Acrylic mirrors
The acrylic mirrors were from a plastics shop - I had them custom sized then drilled the mounting holes at home. I covered the screws with chrome "Snap Caps" to hide the screw heads. Acrylic mirror is also carried by most Home Depot and Lowe stores and is usually kept where they stock plexiglass. I got the chrome snap caps at Lowes.

Great pictures. Nice choices in Formica and fabric. We were wondering about your magazine racks. Nice colour match.
I see you posted Camping World as the source. Burlington store? I'll drive down if that was where you found them.

That's nice that you could make your very own graphics.
The magazine racks are beautiful.
