Shower hose and shower head

It seems that many people get their own shower hose (spellchecker corrected to "Jose") and shower head but we rarely see them. Are the fittings at the sink for the hose standard?

Yes.

If you order keep an eye on the hose length. the original in the trialer, at least in my trailer, is 40". The one that came with the Oxygenics head was a 60", which seems to be standard. As the hose from the original was bad I had to order a 40" from Amazon, the 60 was just way too long. Campers World only carried the 60's.

My hose on the Oxygenics was incredibly stiff, so I used the original. The original is bad enough. Has anyone found a more flexible one?

This is the one I ended up with, could only find a couple that were 40" to pick from. Better then the original, it stays in the shape and position you put it in as opposed to the plastic original. Not particularly soft if that's what you want.

So are most of you out there getting shower hoses that are 5' long and that seems too long to you? What flexible hose does anyone have? Anybody want to show us your shower heads and hoses?

Wow, feels like I’m piggybacking off another thread again. We also replaced our stock shower head with the Camco shower head and like it, the on/off is much easier to use and for the price you can’t beat it.

Has anyone found a decent wooden (teak or bamboo or any other decent material) shower mat that would fit the bathroom? Scott

We had the Camco that Thoer has, for some reason every time we shutoff at the shower head the water would divert to the sink?

Swapped to this one and it seems to have taken care of the issue. As I mentioned, it did come with a 60" hose that I replace with a 40".

I installed a teak floor in my 19' bath (same as the 5.0) and presently one in BlackJack's bath. Purchased on Amazon.

This makes sense: a common showerhead hose it size to reach from the location of the fixed showerhead (top of the wall) to near the floor, while the Escape hose only needs to reach from the mid-height sink faucet to the top or bottom of the user's body (40" or 1 metre sounds about right for this).

Jim,
Offhand do you remember which one you purchased? Even though we wear slippers in the trailer during the shoulder seasons, (and thank you whoever came up with idea of the door mounted slipper and sandals holder, saw it on one of the random images.) I’m sure the teak would be warmer on the bare feet for cleaning up and late night visits. Thanks, Scott

I'm curious about the floor mat too! The only ones I can find on amazon will need cutting and sanding (too big in one dimension).
Really need it for while showering... Water pools, and while we now have a squeegee, it doesn't get it all...

Doesn't help with the cold feet, but a microfiber towel will soak up water in the shower area very very well.

Yeah, same thing here. I even made a template earlier this summer but then got involved in a landscaping project and can’t remember what I did with it. Our trailer is tucked away in covered storage until April so no measurements or template until then. Scott

I have seen a teak shower mat at Bed Bath and B that would fit a 21' but don't know about a 19'.

Found it on-line. You could roll it up the wall if over size.
  • Conair Roll-Up Folding Mat provides a comfortable, safe, nonslip surface to stand on during and after bathing or showering
  • Vented to allow air and water to flow through
  • Measures 27.5" x 19" x .7"

That is very different from what I have seen and the one I saw was smaller.

Yes I’ve seen those. I was thinking something more along the lines of rigid teak shower grids, to keep your feet out of the water on those cold mornings and evenings. Thanks. Scott
