Sliding windows
almost done with our build sheet for our Escape 19.
We have decided we prefer the slider windows. So curious how all of you out there with slider windows like them?

The slider window on my 17' is located such that when it rains, and I have the canopy extended, and the rear sliding windows is open, water comes into the trailer. The open portion of the windows are not under the canopy. In the front, I have the old school push up window and it also lets rain in. I would prefer the newer push out at the bottom window to solve the rain problem.

Ok, so Desert Dude vs. NW RainMan. Am in the middle here on Central Coast and will say I like the slider style and seems like less to go wrong vs. crank out and prefer no split screen on my rear picture window.

No black marks with the new style windows, otherwise you will have black streaks after each rain, also frost on the inside frames in the winter.

You must have some caustic rain where you travel.
Any black streaks I've had have been minor and easily removed, along with bugs and tar.
Trailer has not been washed since early October. Lives outside, under a cedar tree.

apparently only people with trailer already on order can still submit a build sheet with thermal sliders...so these will be the last 2nd gen trailers with classic windows too!... 
new windows open in the rain....
camper with 19 on order and planning on thermal sliders!...
camper has until later in the year to make up the mind!....

Slider fan here!
With the maxxfan open and running, plus the kitchen window open, enough fresh air movement inside the trailer. Kitchen window recommended when going for sliders!

You are going to almost exclusively find that those with the classic models that only have sliders are going to love them, and those with the new frameless awning are going to like those.
I found the sliders worked quite good for us. You do have to use a bit of dry silicon spray to keep them sliding easily.
That said, I love the look of the new windows, and am just fine with their venting capability, and ease of operation. To be fair, seeing I picked the trailer up on Friday, I have not camped with them yet, just played with them.
Choose what you feel works best for your situation, go camping, and enjoy. Either windows will do the job.

Never had awning style, other then the emergency window, have no problems with the sliders. More modern look with the awning.

I'm grateful for having windows that OPEN  . The two biggest windows in my Scamp are solid plexiglass. Trust me, it's refreshing just to open a dang window. But most of all, I'm grateful for the dual-pane.

Yeah, I could have gone into how its possible for water to come in the sliders when raining but truthfully we were lucky and always remembered to close them. We got use to them on our Casita so we had sliders for 10 years. Other than that we cant say anything bad about the sliders. We did love our kitchen awning type window in the rain and are looking forward to trying the new style. I cant speak for the awning type function yet but they sure look cool.

Donna said it. As long as they open and without a lot of trouble I have no complaints. Any style will work.
Never had a problem with frost either but when it is dropping below freezing, I work extra hard on humidity management. Loren
