Solace

Thought people might be interesting in the interior of our 17' Escape. We went with black appliances, darker fabric and darker counter tops.

We call our trailer "Solace".

Cheers, Bobccat

Hi: Bobccat... Love the look..."Dark and Sensuous". You could certainly take some comfort there!!! You must have been close enough to the factory to do the custom interior. Our 5.0 seems a little sterile in comparison. Alf

Re: Solace

Two years ago my girl friend a budding interior designer picked the colours for "Solace". Reece charged us a little extra but then Reece does that little extra for his clients.

We liked the darker tones because we ski, hike, bike and fish in the sun and it is nice to come back to a cozy home at the end of the day. If we could have a wood burning fireplace, it would just top it off (joke).

See our posting under Modifications - Alterations for shelving and storage ideas.

Cheers, Bobccat

Re: Solace

Beautiful trailer. Is that a solar panel on Solace's roof?

Re: Solace

Yes, the sloar panel is from WeGo Solar total price $675 CDN including all the parts to install, taxes extra. We installed it ourselves. See their web page.

Re: Solace

Bobcat,

I found this: http://wegosolar.com/index.php?main_...roducts_id=440 on the site, but it's $875, not $675. Did you get that specific kit or is there a cheaper one?

Re: Solace

The price may have gone up since we bought ours but that appears to be the same system we have. If you contact WegoSolar they will find the system that meet your energy demands. Note, when dry camping we only use 12 volt lights, CD/radio, motors for water pump and heater. The fridge and stove are gas when dry camping.

Our panel has preformed well for us and appears to meet our demands. It is nice to be in a dry camping site and not have to hear a generator charging batteries, have the smell gas, hooking up the generator or carrying extra gas for the generator.

Cheers, Bobccat

Re: Solace

Bobccat...

You got a beautifull interior......do we have choice of color for the interior or you buy yourself the clothing. I don't see any option of interior color on the Escape website

Thanks for replying

Pat

Re: Solace

Pat, if you supply them with the amount of fabric required, they will use that for the cushions. If you supply the laminate choice for the counter tops they will use that too. There are many options that you can do that are not listed, you just have to ask. If they can accommodate them, they will. If they can't, they explain why.

Re: Solace

Is there a choice of colors for appliances, counter tops & fabrics when ordering a new Escape?

Re: Solace

Josie, I know you can at least get the hood fan in black or white, but we used a custome stove/sink combo so I am unsure about them. You can buy fabric (Tammy will let you know how much) and get it to escape to use. You can also select a laminate and let them know the choice and they will use that. This is real nice, it helps make your unit different from all the others.

Re: Solace

Hi Bobccat, I also really like the counter top you picked out. Dark enough to not just blend in with all the oak. I have been looking at Wilsonart Laminate and unable to find one like yours. I have a 19 ft on order for March and also would like to put your counter top in. So if you don't mind I also would like the color number and brand. Maybe Tammy can order it for Pat and myself at the same time.

Thanks, Robin
