It looks like Google hasn't been around to our house since we replaced our VW Westfalia with a new 17B!.

I hear that for the next version of Streetview, Google is introducing a new feature where you can click on rv's and campers and have a virtual tour of the interior.

No, in Jim's case his link is to Google Maps. The resulting web page shows the address, and even the URL (web link address) includes the precise latitude and longitude (plus some other codes to specify Street View and which way to look).

When you're in Street View, if there are images from different dates available there is an extra small window with a timeline under it. For instance, in Jim's example, the main image is the current view (Sep 2014), but the small window shows Sep 2007 and also (using the slider along the line) offers Apr 2009 and Apr 2012. It looks like Jim's neighborhood gets checked out every two or three years.

The images are some sort of pop-up, so perhaps they don't appear if you have an overly enthusiastic pop-up blocker.

I'm not familiar with Streetside, so I checked it out. It looks we are pretty low on Bing's priority list, since Streetside doesn't come within 35 miles of our town!

And if needed, you will come back me up with your tire iron, right Sandra?

My various business listings too have my address. This is pretty common knowledge. A search online found your address too. There really is no hiding if someone wants to find you, short of becoming a hermit deep in the woods.

I prefer to not live my life in worry and fear, and rather look for the positive, and just deal with the negative as it is dealt to me.

Besides, I have a wife to do all my worrying for me.

I don't think you'd need my help. Plus if I did that, I'm afraid I'd just be laughed at. I'm one of those that needed a raised dinette to see out the front window.

OK - We checked out our street view. We thought it was hilarious that the 4Runner and whichever trailer we owned at the time are gone! We must have been out having fun.

They caught ours too That is *actually* the baby Sprinter Van - looks like a stretch limo in this view!
In our neighbourhood, no one even blinks about the fact that we store the trailer in the driveway all summer, when it isn't out camping. In the winter it parks on a massive driveway in Bowness.

Microsoft's Bing Streetside appears to have so little coverage that it is useless. From Wikipedia:
Quote:
Streetside provides 360-degree imagery of street-level scenes taken from special cameras mounted on moving vehicles. Launched in December 2009 it contains imagery for selected metro areas in the United States as well as selected areas in Vancouver and Whistler, British Columbia associated with the 2010 Winter Olympic Games (example: Richmond Olympic Oval). Selected cities in Europe were also made available in May 2012.

Funny, I sold my '86 Westy in that color last year also.

Our Westy was an '85 with the water-cooled 1.9 liter engine, so we drove up mountain passes in the right lane with the flashers on (I was envious of those '86 models, with the 2.1 liter engine). One of the best things about towing our Escape is being able to keep up with traffic.

I was lucky, mine had a new GoWesty 2.5 in it and ran pretty well. Great little campers, but too small as 'll for us now.

For Mac users I know the Grab utility works well, but if you remember these two key combinations you will save considerable time, especially when doing multiple screen captures where you want to select the area. I use it for preparing training manuals, capturing areas as small as a screen icon.

Shift-Control-Command-4 : Captures the area you select to the clipboard, so you can paste it into a document or wherever you can paste.

Shift-Command-4 : Creates a PNG image of the area you select and puts it on the desktop. I use this to ensure I have a copy of my online order confirmation, just in case it an email copy isn't sent. (it happens)

And finally, here is a photo of me working to prevent leaks on my old Nash trailer. Despite all my efforts at regularly resealing, two major leaks (5 years apart) destroyed this trailer. I can't wait for Google to get a pic of my new Escape when we get it in May!
