Good to hear. I was starting to get worried that I would have to put some type of liner over the plywood but if you have been using yours for 3 years with no issues then that's good news. I am glad they have the vinyl on the bottom as it's probably more durable and if the grandkids come sit down with wet bathing suits then we can just flip the cushion over.

Karen, I'm with you! Smooth wood under cushions with rounded corners, no burrs on hinges, no noise when shifting. Life is Good

Noisy cushions

Interesting comments from two of you. Then, why the heck do mine make noise?

I think I'm gonna have to take a recording of me moving around on the cushions as I consider it a heck of a racket and it takes away from my enjoyment of sitting there.

Will do that later. A trip to Ikea comes first as I've been told they have CAT PILLOWS there! Pillows with cats on 'em, not pillows for cats to snooze against. (well, guess they could if they wanted to.) So, yeah, photos of new pillows may be forthcoming!

My cushions squeak a bit also, mostly the back-rest cushions where they meet the corner of the trailer. I try to not let inconsequential things like this bother me so I just ignore it.

No squeaking at all. No wear either that I can detect. I flip the cushions on occasion, and both sides look the same.

Might just sound like it's coming from the cushions and actually be wildlife in the trailer. I'd set up a trail camera and review the chip. If it's mice put a couple cats in there overnight!

Cat Pillows!

From Ikea. I haven't made mine - yet. But these will hold me over until I do.

Glen - that's what we thought too! How can a bubble level not work - but Donna's a witness (and Reace). It was even stranger when the second one didn't work!

A phone app is a great idea - thanks everyone for sharing.

Kathie, seeing Donna and Reace were involved, I have to ask. Was there any drinking involved? Might 'splain things a bit.

Dirk has seen The Trailer

Okay, for those waiting with bated breath, here's what happened at around 3AM on Tuesday, when I brought Dirk and his mom home from their cruise. They were very tired and she didn't even notice the trailer, even though I had left the outside light on it on and it was lighting up the night. Yeah, exhausted after flying in from Dubai, via Heathrow and LAX.

But, Dirk did notice! Not too much excitement in his voice as he was tired, so he just said "Oh, I see you got the trailer".

He was going to wait to see the inside the following day but when I told him I had to go out there to turn off the light, he came along for the 5 minute tour.

He got a much longer tour today after he got home from work. And he remembered enough from the earlier tour that he was able to tell all of his coworkers about it. They were quite surprised to see him in as he was going to take the day off since today was our original orientation day. They were all surprised I got it myself, but hey, we purchased it with the intention of me using it on my own far more than when Dirk will be with me. So, why not pick it up on my own, is what he told them.

Hit Lowe's tonight and purchased some stuff for projects and such that we need to do in the trailer.

He told me tonight that he really likes what I did with the Peel & Stick and all that. "good job" - I wasn't sure if he'd like it so that was really nice to hear. He likes everything else that's been done in there. YAY!

Laura, Dirk probably won't tell you, but is as proud as can be, I imagine.
Have fun finishing the final touches together!

Thanks gals!

Yeah, Dirk is still pretty wiped out. And he's coming down (or rather has it) a cold due to all the sick people on the plane. Plus, both of his ears are plugged up from flying and are hurting like crazy. So, yeah, he's not in the best of shape right now, so I'm doubly glad it was ready early and I was able to get it.

But that "good job" meant a lot to me and I was tickled pink. Or should I say "purple"?

Hypervent mesh

On the hypervent mesh thread I posted my experiences on using it. And on post #123, shortly after my other post, I added a bunch of photos of what the dinette cushions now look like with that stuff installed. I won't repeat it all here, so fling your mouse (or whatever) on this link and read it there.

http://www.escapeforum.org/forums/f9...tml#post172628

And note the black screw covers I used in the dinette area. And how I painted the filler board black.

Vinyl wrapped cushions

Someone inquired as to what they looked like and where the zipper was. I figured it was easier to post them on this thread as that way I won't have to scale them down to send via email. Yeah, call me lazy. But hey, maybe someone else wants to know.

That icky glossy sealer

I was also asked about that glossy sealer ETI used along the backside of the countertop area. These aren't the best photos, but the flash on the camera made it rather challenging. Hopefully you'll be able to see how it stands out and how it's not even either. I know it may not bug some folks, but it really does look like there's a thread of water back there and I'm unable to keep a tidy and clean kitchen. Least that's how I think of it. It really shows up on a sunny day, which today is not one of those.
