Hi Jim,
Yes the table slides but it is a bit smaller...35" compared to the front dinette table which is 42". The rear seat is 23" from the cushion to the front edge, the side benches are 21". The rear bench is wider due to the back rest cushion being 2" inches thick as opposed to almost 4" thick on the side.

I highly recommend the pedestal you referenced. I looked at those during our build but someone had linked to a marine version that was $400 so we passed...I didn't realize you could buy less expensive chair versions that could work for a table. My husband and I have to make up/down the rear dinette since our children sleep at the front dinette and it gets to be a pain having to deal with both of those table legs.

I absolutely LOVE having a u-shaped dinette in the rear....it is so much more spacious and cozy than the front dinette.

Good to hear your recommendation, I too do not like the stock table legs. There are some other options, like these Sequoia leg systems Table Leg & Base System - Sequoia.

When you get some pictures, please post. I'm contemplating having a different support for the table, it is a PIA to take up and down by your self and I always travel with it down. Something like this Wise Adjustable Pedestal With Slide - Gander Mountain
A couple of years back, someone posted modding to a hydraulic table leg. The link I captured is no more, but you can see pictures at this link... about halfway down the page: Flickr: forrentmt's Photostream

Table legs

The pedestal thread is probably this one:
http://www.escapeforum.org/forums/f8...-bed-1560.html

Boat Pedestals | Stainless Steel Swivel Pedestal | Seat Shock Absorbers - Model AJF-2 about half way down on the right.

I am currently planning to use the Sequoia Leg System for my 19.

19 Fronu U Dinette

Attached are pictures from Tammy of Dave1's 19' being built. I have asked her to add it to my build sheet. (Note:The dimensions are too small to read.)

Thanks Dave/Tammy!

I was just going to post some build pictures of the u dinette. The dimensions are the front long bench is 18" wide and will have a 2" thick back cushion. Each side bench is 24" wide and aprox 26" long. I chose those dimensions which are standard u dinette in the 5.0. Could have made the front bench wider but didn't want to give up that much seating length on the side benches.

What was the chair version? Did you just look at it or are you installing it?

Please post pictures of the dinette with cushions. I have asked for the same thing you are getting - I don't get mine until January. But I want some alternate table legs or a pedestal.

I sure will. The trailer is in week 3 so no cushions yet. There is a good picture on the escape website in the 5.0 section. You will notice that the side cushions will be 2 pieces an 18" cushion for the front and 26 " cushion for the side.
I will have the dbl pedestal legs but I sure like the looks of the single telescoping leg. Going to wait and see how much I will ever need to use the area as a bed. There are just 2 of us plus a dog.

Hello,
We will take delivery of our 21 in June 2014 and have chosen the U-shape dinette also. Looks great! We really like your choice of upholstery and formica as well. Would you share the name of the formica color?

Also, is your 19 configured with the bed in the front and dinette in the back?

Happy trails!

storage and u shaped dinnette

In the 19 do you gain or lose storage with the u shape? Are there any other pros and cons?

to family fun. I love your trailer. Can you tell me the name of the material you used for the seat cushions?
We picked one called dupione nectarine and it looks similar. Thanks

It is kind of fun reading these old posts and thinking about what was said then versus what is happening now in the various builds.

The "Family Fun" trailer pics are ones that, a long time ago, I saved to file of "favorite trailer interiors". Still looks good! Susan
