It was so easy it was to register my Escape 21 ( completion date Aug. 15) in my home town of Anchorage. Certificate of Origin (provided by ETI) and a 1 page form for me to fill out were all that was required. I walked out with a title, license plate, and lifetime registration for $95 (2 year registration would have been $70).
Who else wants to move to Alaska, $95 for lifetime plates, unbelievable.
Jim you don’t have to go all the way to Alaska in Alberta you buy your trailer plate and keep it even if you change trailers just swap it and let them know (most don’t bother).

It’s $35 a year for the Escape 21 in Iowa. It’s based on square footage on the interior of the trailer. I told the lady it was 7 feet wide and about 16 or 17 feet long inside. She said “then about 100 square feet, $ 35. Works for me. We keep the same plate for about ten years and then a new Governor has to make a statement and calls for a new design. Used to be a new plate every year. 1953 to 1955 the plate said Tall Corn State on it. But the cosmopolitans complained that it made us appear to be hicks. Imagine that.

Don't tell anyone but I pay about $70 / year for my Alaska plates. However, if I wanted to claim my trailer as a commercial trailer … its $50 for as long as I own the trailer. Mmmm

There is no state sales tax so the registration fee above is about it. Of course you have to eat your share of King Crab, King Salmon and Moose too. A dirty job but someone has to do it!
