Manuals Binder

I know this is trivial but I'm going to post it anyway. I got tired of all the equipment manuals all over the place or in a ragged and torn envelope so bought a small (about 7 x 9) 3-ring binder and got everything into it save the Escape Owner's Manual and the refer manuals. I put the two items I couldn't fold in half and/or punch out into sheet protectors.

We do the same, we keep the registration in there too. Which by the way a RI State Park actually required before they'd give me a site.

Great idea. I've been living with the tired old envelope. And by the way, nothing is trivial!

Our method has been to hunt up the manuals as PDFs online and save them in iBooks. That way, we can read them from either iPad or iPhone, anytime, without taking up extra space!

I download everything available, but also keep the printed copies. The binder is a good idea, and I found that a desirable variation for carrying in the trailer is a binder which zips up around the sides, so nothing falls out.

I too am in the process of downloading what I can, and am going to scan the rest. I will then put them on a tablet, as well as float a copy in the cloud for reference. No need to haul more stuff around.

The print copies will be filed at home.

Karen, I like your idea, that's just what Alf did and handed us the book today when he sold us his trailer. I don't think it will be too much to carry around.

I learned long ago, from a meticulous buddy of mine, to keep all instruction manuals and receipts.
While looking through the manual for my large Weber BBQ to see how to replace the burners, I discovered that they were covered by a 10 year warranty that would expire in nine months.
Had the receipt. Made the calls, photographed the burners, and a few weeks later a courier dropped off a complete new set of burners.
I have all the manuals for my Escape, in a binder, along with receipts. I also keep a log with entries like best camp site in a camp ground, weather endured, when I replaced the battery, charge levels, when I checked tire pressure, etc. etc.
Looking over my log, I see that I've not been camping at all this year.

Has anyone managed to download the 2014 Escape Manual from the files section of this web site? All I get is an empty file.

Yep, noproblem here, it just takes some time to download.

If you like i can send a copy to you by e-mail, or other way. It's 2.55 MB big, or small/

Have fun!
