Escape 15B

We are new here and have begun searching for an Escape 15 or 17, preferably 15B.

I will haul it with a 2008 Nissan Frontier crewcab pickup. I wonder if it will haul the 17 easily. Any assistance would be appreciated.

No problem.
My 17b pulls easily with my Ford Ranger 4L 4x4 2010.

Based on both the typical specs of compact pickups, and specific discussions of the Frontier, just about any Frontier should be able to handle an Escape 17... but check your manual and door jamb sticker for information specific to your model.

The 15 would be lighter than the 17, and thus easier to get moving and to haul up hills; however, the aerodynamic drag of the two will be similar... the 17 might even have less drag. If weight is not an issue, the extra space in a 17 would seem to me to be worthwhile.

I'm sure Alf will chime in here, since he used to tow his 5.0 with a Frontier crew cab and is now pulling his 5.0 TA which is a little tougher to do on those mountain passes but he made it back from BC to ON!

I live in Nelson BC where we have mountain passes in every direction, so I want to be sure the Frontier can do the job. Therefore, I'm more interested in a 15B, but I think I could still handle a 17B also based on the above responses.

Thanks. Now I need to find something in my price range.

According To Nissan your Crew Cab has a towing capacity of 6300 lbs, a max tongue weight of 630 lbs, and a GCWR of 11,133 lbs. The 17 will probably travel in the 3000 - 3200 lb range. The 15 is lighter. No problem.

My RAV4 is only rated for 3,500 lbs. and it tows my 17B up the Coquihalla snowshed at 85-90 kph.

Thanks for the support, now - where are the 15B's or 17B's?

Good luck with that. It's all a matter of timing. We're having ours built new.
