Hi
We are newbies at this and hoping to buy a 19 Escape that is now posted. Do you think it is risky to offer someone a down payment, who has posted the trailer on this forum? I know you say to determine the authenticity of the person but am not sure exactly how to determine this so if you have any suggestions, it would be appreciated.
Thank you
Marg & Tony

You can always use an escrow service to hold the funds until conditions are met and you are confident they can be released.

If you click on the person's name that made the "for sale" post, you will see a selection "find other posts by". You could then review their posts and get an idea if the seller is legit or if you need to be cautious.

With the Canada/US border being closed, it would be great if people would put in the title of the ad whether the trailer is in Canada or the US. Even better would be to put the province or state in the title.

That is indeed one of the instructions in the list in post #1.
Or....I just look over on the left under the avatar photo:
under "join date", there is "location", which should give a pretty good regional idea at least. (E.G.: Mine says "Ventura County", which gets you within a 1 hour drive).

FWIW, you can get a trailer from Canada by working with a border broker and a tow company. The broker part might be optional. Fiberglass RV forum has good recent info on people’s experiences importing a trailer during Covid.
We looked into this and it would’ve cost an extra $1500 to tow it 250 miles to the US border. It was an about even split between the broker and the tow company (which has to be licensed to do border crossings) With the exchange rate it might be worth it. Happy to share my research you’re interested, though you can find the bulk of it on a couple of my previous posts.

The broker is experienced in acquiring and doing the paper work for importation to US or into Canada. Truck driver is experienced in transporting.

You allowed me to edit my post but I can't edit the title, which is ridiculous. I'm lowering the price and want it reflected in the title.

I just posted a 2018 21C in the For Sale forum. I wanted the title to be in bold and put in the HTML code. Instead of bolding the title it put the code in. Why can't I edit the title? Please remove the code and put the title in bold.

I edited the title (requires a moderator). Titles default to bold, so no need to use HTML code.

Contact a moderator and they can do it. They can set it that you can edit and restore it to frozen once you are done.
