Been there, done that. Running 100 kph in the HOV lane. Started a lane change to the right and realized that there was a car next to me. Had to swerve back into my lane. Tow and Toad behaved as one. Without the WDH, I'm sure I would have been spread all over the highway, after hitting the median. Raised my pulse some.

I have to chime in with my experience. With a 25 ft trailer behind a Chevrolet Tahoe that was no where near its maximum tow capacity and with a weight distribution hitch we could not safely drive over 95 km/hr . In hindsight knowing what I know now there was not enough tounge weight . The trailer axles were too far forward and it was practically impossible to load it in a way to achieve proper tounge weight . In my opinion and experience a WDH is not a sway conrol but will help with over all control with a well matched vehicle to trailer with good weight balance. By the way we only owned that trailer for one summer. It seems that Reace is very good at laying out Escapes so that it is possible to have proper tounge weight and a good towing experience. We are lucky, most manufacturers really don't seem to care

Could it be that the WDH wasn't installed correctly? On mine, depending how many links in the chain I leave hanging, the WDH could be doing nothing at all or doing its job.
One of these days I'm going to paint the link I need to use, or at least write it in my log. Third link, two hanging. Third link, two hanging. Third link, two hanging...

I can asure that the hitch was set up properly. My point is that a WDH does not stop sway, having a properly balanced trailer that tracks well and is a good match to the tow vehicle.

Some WDH's have integral sway control designed into the system. Sway contol can be seperate as a friction device. There are so many variables based on the capacity of the tow vehicle and the trailer tongue weight. The system should be installed specific the the tow vehicle and the trailer.

I "painted" mine with pink sparkly nail polish.

That said, I have had no sway and almost no buffeting using the WDH that Reace installed.

I have a 15B fully loaded with original build sheet in email from Escape, bill of sale and all that stuff so you know exactly what you are getting. Took delivery in BC, hauled it to UT to live in as a single apartment. It literally has less than 1,000 miles on it (don't know how to prove this).

Shower was never used (used the RV campground), no poop ever in the black tank (sorry, not being crude), just urine, stove never used nor the kitchen sink.

Sorry, don't know what it's worth and because I am not there, it will not be available until Oct. It is currently in covered storage in Ogden.

I really loved that little thing but all the changes in life . . .
