I've got the flag. And, we're booked June 5 -8 with plans to move down to the lakefront after that.

I have state flag of Texas that I was given at last year's rally.
So, I'm bringing it back.

Donna and I booked a site and I will get to display my towing skills at the rally with my first ever trailer, our month old 5.0. See you all there.

Doug and I have just registered from Thursday until Sunday.

I think we'll stay at OK Falls on the Wednesday night--then afterwards we are off to Kelowna for a few nights--want to do some of the Myra Canyon bike route...

Two phone calls got me no response, but the email I sent did. Paid the deposit, and got my confirmation.

Jim,
I see you got site C119, according to the confirmation, even though they won't let you reserve a particular site...
I sent them an email asking for C116 yesterday after getting the confirmation email, and they did acknowledge my request, for what that's worth.

Seeing these sites are already reserved for the rally, I see no reason that they could not reserve a specific site for one of us. I can see why they might not otherwise, as during peak season they are trying to maximize the amount of campers they can fit in.

I think you're running into this part of the reservation policy:
Quote:
We will always try to satisfy the request of our guests, but we cannot guarantee waterfront or specific site numbers for reservations that are less than 14 nights long.
I think I understand why a specific site cannot be guaranteed: although the rally is booking a large block of sites, all of which will be available to Escape owners, the campground operators cannot be certain that a specific site will be available on your arrival day. The previous person in any given site might overstay their reservation by a day, making that specific site unavailable to the next person, even though there may be lots of sites. In serviced sites like these, there can also be technical difficulties requiring repair.

This is much like the rental car situation: the rental companies take reservations, including a specific class of car, but since they can't completely control when the vehicles come back to them, they can't be sure that your reserved car will be there to give to you. Hotel rooms are similar.

Having changed by own plans with campsites, rental cars, and hotels, I can sympathize with the operators of these businesses.

I was aware of that, Brian. The one loop will be all Escape trailers, so their policy for that loop need not apply.

Last year we had almost the entire loop. There were a few semi-permanent motorhomes / fifth wheels. But, no matter, because in that loop there is no shade. One site is as good as another, except for distance walking to the clubhouse.

Exactly. They way I look at it is how far it is from the clubhouse to have to get another beer from my trailer.

Last year Jasper did get a lot of walking in, with us at one end, just about as far away as you can get.

Hi: Jim Bennett... My problem is just the reverse. How far is it to the washroom to get rid of the last beer? Alf

As it stands right now--we are your neighbours Glen. We are in 115 according to the reservation thing they sent me...

Do I have to hide our outside plug in beer cooler?? LOL
