I only know of two pubs in Osoyoos.

Jim, the pickings are mighty slim as you can imagine in the small town. I cruised yelp, urban spoon and tripadvisor.

Convivia Bistro seems to be a frontrunner -- even if they use waffle fries ( )

The Sage Pub at least lists poutine, and it is in walking distance of the rally if there is a shortcut over that-a-way (lakeshore). Sage Pub

Smittys (think Dennys) has it on their national menu but they use a three cheese blend.

The other pubs and other establishments don't list it on their menus as a regular feature. I'll be in town that whole week, so will have to maybe do some reconnoitring of the poutine offerings.

Used Google Maps and it found Sage Pub, but not where I expected. The pub Google Maps found is mostly a beer and wine shop. Haven't been to it in years ( once was enough ), if it's the same place.

Got it. Looks like a total reno from when I visited for lunch years ago.
There are two other pubs in Osoyoos that I'd go to first. One overlooks town centre and the other overlooks the lake.

Found them. It appears that the Ridge brew pub is CLOSED. Don't know when that happened. Urban Spoon seems to like the Sage a lot so maybe they reno'd more than the bar.

You may want to choose the Owl Pub in the old hotel building. It is downtown at the hard right hand turn in hwy #3 (main street) two blocks from Home Hardware. It has an open, covered patio and has a nice view of the lake from the patio. They have Poutine. Probably an influence brought by the young French Canadian fruit pickers from Quebec. I have yet to eat Poutine but then I have never eaten a Big Mac either.

For very good Italian Food for dinner I suggest Campo Marina on main street near the turn of to the Camp Site. It can get very busy so try to reserve. They do have a very comfortable waiting area if you try your luck without a reservation.

Some you win, and some you lose.
Not eating a Big Mac is a win (it has been 20 years for me), but you lose not trying a well made poutine (IMHO)

This got me wondering when was the last time I had a Big Mac. I really dislike McDonalds but I do recall liking it as a kid. I guess it's been 39 years (1976)?

Thanks for the local info, I'm hoping to see more of downtown this year, I only went in once last year for supplies (beer). Hoping to enjoy a meal or two and the hardware store tour.

The hardware store tour? Sounds intriguing. I have yet to find a "real" hardware store in the 30 years I have lived in Florida, at least not like the hardware stores I grew up experiencing in New England.

However, I do believe I will forego the pooptine. Tried it once in Montreal years ago. Key word here is once.

I remember the local hardware store was where you bought bicycles in the summer and they set up Lionel trains for the holidays, all before there were shopping malls.

The Home Hardware store is a great place to visit, and I hate shopping. They have an incredible selection of stuff in there. We have yet to walk out with something we needed. That, and Jasper is allowed in there on a lead, and just loves perusing the pet section, with all the great smells.

Old stores have character. Shopping malls, not so much. One of our favorite stores is an old 'five and dime' in Fredericksburg. The aisles are tight and narrow and the merchandise is kind of hard to find, but they have almost anything. And, its usually not the common cheap Chinese junk you find at the Walmart.

The store is unique. The owner is passionate and lives and breathes her store. She will put anything she thinks will sell in her store. She does not follow any corporate recipe. I got this from her husband who noted we where from out of town because we were wearing shorts. He pointed out the locals do not wear shorts until it gets hot. It was 80 degrees at the time.
