I guess they can smell the tourists or rather see the tourists from a mile away, I'm hoping to be in shorts the entire trip from Pennsylvania to Osoyoos. Foot note- we are getting another 6" white stuff tonite.....

If only hardware stores would sell poutine, now that would be a combo.

By the reviews on the Sage Pub from TripAdvisor it doesn't look to bad. I think Jim's "no cook menu" has the right idea...

Of course there is nothing like first hand experience, might just have to check the place out Thursday night as according to their specials its 2 for 1 BBQ ribs.

Sage Eats!

Cheers

How many shots of tequila would it take though, Anna-Marie?

It is all part of the fun. Expect even more at the rally.

I got to party with Anna-Marie and Doug, and a bunch of other regulars here, the day I picked up my trailer from Escape at the Fort Langley Rally. Will have a 6 year reunion with Jenny and Ian at this years rally. We shared a site with them that weekend.

I swear, that's the customers in the washroom, who ordered the poutine.

Jim - Ian and I are really looking forward to this 6 year reunion with you, Lisa and Jasper - and seeing all the rest of you at the rally. We've been spending endless hours working on this trip, and the excitement grows the closer we get. We leave here in Vermont on May 12th to pick up Houdini 2 at ETI on May 19th. Then we and he will spend some time getting used to each other and arrive in Osoyoos on Wednesday May 27th.
See you then!
- Jenny & Ian

We're in. Will Osoyoos. ever be the same? We've had so much fun beating up on poutine, I'm bringing my 10 cent garage sale bargain Teflon coated poutine dish and looking forward to actually trying some. Just in case it needs a little pizzazz, I'm bringing a couple bottles of that great American delicacy, Cheese Whiz! Hope they let me bring it across the border...

Poutine aside, we're looking forward to meeting our Forum cyber - pals for the first time. Should be a hoot!

Greg & Ann

Pretty sure that stuff has been deemed unsafe for consumption by Health Canada, and not allowed into the country. We have had exactly one jar of that in our house for nearly 30 years, and it had to be thrown out as it was going bad in the back of the fridge. Our kids won't eat processed cheese.

Only good cheddar cheese curds are appropriate for poutine. I wonder if there is any good poutine available in Osoyoos. In the attempt to cash in on it, just about every restaurant serves it, but only some make it good. You need good potatoes fresh cut, as well as a good gravy to make it work.

Hopefully you do find some good poutine, and looking forward to seeing you at the rally.

Yep, Cheez Whiz is some nasty stuff! I use it as bait on mouse traps but haven't figured out if the mouse expires from the Cheez Whiz before the trap gets 'em! If Kraft could make it black, I'm wondering if I could use it to reseal my driveway?

I'm anxiously awaiting my first poutine experience. I've had cheese curds and been in Wisconsin. Good stuff. My Aussie friends had me going like this on Vegamite. Let's just say, I'm hoping poutine is a little better on the palate...

Looking forward to meeting you. The trip was sort of unplanned as Ann had back surgery 5 weeks ago and we've been housebound. I'm glad we got a space at the campground, I was afraid we'd have to wave as we drove by.

Greg

In honour of you guys here on the forum...my daughter and I went out for lunch last week in Vancouver and she took me to a place her boyfriend (originally from Quebec) loves--"La Belle Patate"---yup a poutine place--we only had the "regular" but some of the concoctions looked "interesting"...
And I finally bought a small Cheez Whiz the other day--I do like it on celery...

Well, since you brought it up I noticed that A&W actually has poutine on the menu. It's everywhere, no wonder it's such a hot topic. Actually I can't bring myself to try it. But then I've never tried grits either.
