Maybe because we don't have enough food listed yet.

A bit of a note for those who are still trying to decide what to bring to the potluck. There always seems to be a lot of salad and munchies stuff left over at the end, and we always seem to run out of the entrée dishes.

Jim? Donna?
And, what is that blue dot at the bottom left?
I believe because this was from a new member who's posts are monitored. Once approved, it goes away.

OK, we're "newbies" to this kind of rally, and have some typical newbie questions regarding the potluck dinner and breakfast. Being a little paranoid about trying to cook for a large group of people, none of whom we know, we're taking the safe route this year and bringing dips and spreads for the dinner, but would like to do more. How are items like breakfast juices handled? Do all attendees participate in these potlucks, or just those who sign up for something? How about the cocktail hour(s) before dinner?

Any guidance would be appreciated!

This will be our third , as far as we saw everyone seems to bring something . Like Jim Bennett says there do seem to be less entrees , but in general the food is more than plentiful . There is a beer exchange shortly before the dinner , have read that leftovers stay for the dinner ....but have never looked to see if there is actually left over beer . Wine drinkers just bring wine , all very friendly fun sharing . Don't think ther is any need to worry about any particular dish being to big or small , there is in general just a huge amount of different and yummy things to taste . It's fun - personally really like Glen Baglos salmon - was lucky enough to get a little piece !

Yeah, like Gabi said, there is always lots of food. The last few people that made it through the lineup did not have much for main courses to choose from. BUT, everyone did eat lots of great food, and fun was had by all.

Not everyone joins in the potluck, but I think almost everyone does. There are also lots of dishes brought by people who do not even frequent this forum. Just bring about 6-8 or so normal sized servings of your dish, and all will be good. Most people only take small amounts of any dish, as there are so many different ones to try to take in.
