Dave,
Free beer at the Coors plant in Golden, Colorado. Three each of their assorted offerings, so bring Rita to get extra tickets.

Jim,
We will be going north on I 25 then on two lane to Ogalllala Neb today. As a hoarder I have a few old badges. Does anybody collect these or assorted shoulder patches? I have a few of those too. Bill, thanks for the beer tip, maybe next time through we wil stop off.

Did Coors start making beer? I thought it was beer flavored sparkling water....

We did get to use the trailer in late July. Went to North Dakota to visit our daughter. She came down to Lake Sakakawea and stayed with us.

Altogether we spent eight nights in ND and SD state parks, had a great time and learned a lot about the trailer. Spent two nights with no hookups and three of us in the trailer, glad we got two 6V.

Got to meet Art M. and see the Cardinals Nest at Lake Sakakawea State Park. It was nice to meet another Escape owner then get home, change the calendar to August and there was the Cardinals Nest.

Reservation open

Admittedly, this posting is somewhat self serving. Site 118 at Thompson Causeway has opened up during the rally weekend. If you are planning on coming this is a real nice site. Why is it self serving and what are the negatives?, first, it's next to our site and if you don't like to be next to a quiet, helpful guy and his gracious bride, it's not for you. Second, I don't care who you are, I'd rather camp next to your tent or fiberglass trailer than a bus or a 5 th wheel, with 6 slide outs pulled by an idling diesel truck. There you go, I think it's a pull through that's 100 feet long, even a towing rookie could get into. If it isn't, I'll back you in and level you up. There will be no trouble with your bubble.

Dave's new business "Full Service Campsite Setup" offered for free. I hope somebody scores this deal.

He will probably check the torque on your wheels for you also.

I'll check your tire pressures too, and as value added I'll test drink a couple of your beers to make sure it's not skunky or poisoned by an enemy.

Give him the whole 12 pack of some good brew and he might do your wheel bearings if you follow him home.... on the other hand if you give him enough free beer he might follow you home...

There would have to be an order of operation here. The 12ver, getting home and then packing bearings doesn't seem to fit in the same sentence. Next year, we will do a pack your bearings demo, ok Eric? You bring the gojo.

Deal. I'll bring the Gojo AND some Lava and you do the demo! After all those decades of grease embedded under my fingernails I've developed an allergy - I think it called the Greasy Work Allergy or maybe the Retired Syndrome.

Unfortunately it hasn't yet saved me from being the Tech Support Center for all my local friends, but my hands stay pretty clean setting up a home entertainment center or problem solving phones and computers .

My body went the other way, after buying my first boat and trailer at 15 and learning maintenance from my Dad, I need to get greasy on a periodic basis. In the winter, I clean my fishing reels and clean up any Junker reels I've bought at garage sales. It's not much grease but enough to keep me going.

Oliver Travel Trailer will there

I plan to attend. I reserved site 118. I have an Oliver Travel Trailer--Elite II. I'll be coming from near Iowa City, Iowa. My camper was the subject of "Escape meets Ollie" on this forum. I met a very nice Escape owner at Mesa Verde National Park earlier this year and he posted photos and comments that generated a lot of discussion on the forum! Looking forward to meeting other fiberglass camper owners from Iowa and Illinois.

It's south of us, what's the long range wind forecast? Did anybody mention that the River smells like carp no matter where you are?

My oldest daughter lives in North Liberty. Welcome, I know a lot of folks would like a
chance to look at an Oliver. Like I said before, I've seen a lot of them and have driven a few, the 77 Row Crop is my favorite.

Yeah, but they still aren't a John Deere. :-)

Not a Deere

Don't ever get foolish and put your antique Deere in a pull where there are some Allis Chalmers WDs registered. You will not have any lunch. And for style the Oliver 77 is the best looking tractor ever built. In my tractor opinion. The Iowa old threshers reunion runs over Labor Day. It's quite an event. My Uncle used to show his Oil Pull down there. There was a pretty good auction in Belle Plaine today. Had a one lunger Maytag gas engine that didn't look to bad. I already have one though.

My father owned a John Deere dealership. It paid for my upbringing, as good as that was, so with John Deere I must be loyal.

What did the plow say to the Tractor?
Pull Me Closer, John Deere.
