Darn.... I wanted 114. Although we don't have an Escape (hopefully by next year), we plan to join in the festivities this Fall. Looking forward to meeting everyone and taking an closer look at the Escapes.

I would really love to make this rally but that is when the grain harvest starts. Will be about 130 miles Northwest of you running one of those big green machines. Loren

Looking forward to meeting you. We used to go through Adel on 169 on our way to Don Williams Park where we camped with our pickup camper. Just up the road is Minburn. They used to have a sign on the outskirts of town both north and south. It proclaimed Minburn, Little town with a big heart. Of corse the local vandals had painted out the h e and replaced it with an F. Always made me smile

I would love to help harvesting again. My parents used to grow grains, usually wheat and rye but sometimes also barley and oats. One of the few tasks I never got to do was running the combine, since my older brothers always out-competed me...

That's too bad Loren would have liked to have met you, oh well, somewhere along the way. We were just near you again at our daughter's at Fort Leavenworth on our way home from AZ, just got home at six tonight, an hour at the border, it's spring break here

I tried to book site 114 at 840 CDT but website said could only book after 1000 EDT so took my daughter's dogs to the dog park, when I tried again at 0915 Rita had grabbed it. That's OK, they'll be just up the road from us and I see we are welcome to visit to enjoy their view

I hope you're not too mad at me. I'm at your mercy on the Manitoba site booking. Since it wouldn't be Christian to put me next to a smelly pit toilet, I'm not too worried. Of course living in the neighborhood with a mega dairy and in a state full of hog confinement operations, my olfactory senses are somewhat compromised.

I'm filing a formal protest with the rules committee on the Torque Off Contest as I have self incriminating evidence that Dave is practicing. According to the official rules (at least those I have floating around in this aging brain) the only practice allowed is for the warm up session - beer drinking.

I know a thing or three about organizing contests as a former member in good standing of the National Recreation and Parks Association, The Great Lakes Park Training Institute, and sextion chairman of the prestigious Iowa Parks and Recreation Association. My training at the World renown Iowa State University of Science and Technology where I got a well earned C in Physics 112 qualified me to run a torque wrench since I knew F= m X a and I know the difference between a newton and a Fig Newton. Me and my work hardened wings will be there so you better get practicing too. This protest talk is torquing me off.

Iowa State? Hah! The physics classes that I skipped on a regular basis in the Mechanical Engineering program at the University of Illinois were undoubtedly much higher quality.

I remember arm wrestling an Iowan farm boy for beers at Connies Place in Rome, Iowa back in 1966, got my *** whipped. Course beers were only $.25 then and so was gas. Interesting now draft beer is $2.00 and so is gas. Things never change......

I did something more productive last night, I worked on the traveling trophy design and studied crooners with 1940s big bands. I had been playing my vinyl, three record, Hoagy Carmichael boxed set and then drifted to a young Bing Crosby signing Mississippi Mud backed by the iconic Iowa coronet player Bix Beiderbecke. I don't have the heart to tell Rita I'm actually 87 years old. Gotta put my chainsaw back together this AM, hope I can get the torque on the side cover nuts just right. Might have to do it over and over.

I used to do that stuff too, and my shoulders will never be right. Now I concentrate on a training regimen of 12 ounce curls. When I killed hogs for a living at Wilson's in Cedar Rapids I had a job where I held a 10 inch butcher knife about head high facing hams at 642 hogs an hour. After 2 million, I quit and got another government job. Lots better.

Eric (aka Thoer): It looks like your only a few miles from where I live (as the crow flies). My wife and I live across from Trempealeau on the Mn side. If I would have known, I would have asked to come over at look at your 17b.

Over the past several years, my wife and I have examined how we camp to find out what's important to us in a trailer. We keep coming back to an Escape 15b, with certain modifications. The overall size is perfect for our family, which consists of myself, my wife and our two Portuguese Water Dogs. It is also the perfect size for our current tow vehicle, which I just upgraded in 2014.
