We're on our way to Osoyoos, andl spent last night at Thomson Causeway, Illinois which is the new site of the Mississippi River gathering in Iowa Dave's area. We are joining the group with a reservation in site 121. For anyone considering this rally, the parking pads are large and they are concrete. All sites have electric with plenty of water spigots but no water hookups. Showers are a couple hundred yards away, and fully acceptable.
With senior rate, the COE charges only $7 or $10 per night, depending on a site's location, so stay a while--we're scheduled for Thursday to Monday.
The loop we're on has about 4 spaces left, but there's another loop within view up river a ways, just past the tent area.

There are water spigots around even though not at the sites, so you can be near one if you look at the map for them when booking.

I liked last year's location but have also been to this year's and it is very similar.

It even looked good in snow when I was there last winter. Tonight I am in Cheyenne Wyoming. It is snowing and raining at the same time and is 35 degrees. Refrigerator did well today. Course it only got up to 46 degrees outside so it did not have to work too hard. And you can cool your beer right on the picnic table. Always look on the bright side, even when there is no sun.

Eric, I showed Loren from KS my torque wrench and shared a concept on the trophy when he stopt by on Saturday. He said he probably wouldn't make this one as he'd be combining beans. He liked the Escape shack in the back yard too. I told him to make like Bob Barker and "Come on Down!!!

Lorry & I have our 5.0 TA safely back in Iowa after 2500 miles! Only problem was a blown fuse. I forgot my VOM, bought one at a small town in Montana. Went into a NAPA store on Saturday afternoon, told the man I needed a VOM, he said they didn't have any. I said "you don't sell VOM's?", he said "I thought you wanted to rent one". Guess I don't speak Montana!
Looking forward to seeing everyone. We are in lot 116.

Great -- always good to meet another Escape owner or owner to be!

Site 106 for Dave and Linda Allen with another Casita - it will undergo the same mod at the end of Feb 2017.

Welcome to the rally. Especially those Casita owners undergoing modifications. It will be interesting to hear and see how far along they will be on their modifications.

If this rally is like last year there will be a number of wanna be owners present so they can "kick the tires". So far we do not have any of the "little guys", 13' or 15' models, otherwise every other model is present. We will have to wait to see if the new design models will be available.

Paul,
We considered ourselves lucky to get to tour a 13 at the rally in Osoyoos. There were any number of 15s out there but I think only one 13 and the only one we've ever seen. Looking forward to seeing you in September.
Let me know if there's anything you need and I'll get Eric to do it.

Lug Nuts Contest

I have been practicing for the up coming contest. Shown below is only a portion of my new lug nut wrench. The remainder is hidden to remain competitive.

That looks a lot like my old ( broken ) torque wrench. I figured I'd use it as a breaker bar, but it's designed to bend and I found it wasn't up to the job.

Well just bring it on down so we can see it.

One of the best practical example of Hooke's law, simple but effective.

Hi all,
We will be working on what the big boys call the test rig as soon as I get back from Durango.
I will also have a traveling trophy for the winner. Figured a traveling trophy was only appropriate. Pulled Wolf Creek Pass in Colorado today 10,800 ft. Highlander performed admirably. When you're depending on everything staying together, including the brakes you adjusted and the bearings you packed and the nuts you torqued down as you descend those Colorado grades, it's a good feeling when you reach the bottom and an even better feeling when you reach for a cold Belgian beer in your air conditioned Escape, just west of
Pueblo Colorado tonight.
