Another tenter

My wife and I have reserved a tent site. We are future 5.0 TA owners and hope to pick it up in March 2017. We have yet to see a 5.0 so we are excited that there will be a few at the 2016 Niagara Wine Escape.

Hi: Wxt129... Welcome tent campers!!! At the moment we are driveway camping, with our 5.0TA, in Ottawa/Orleans. We will be here for a few days then we have to head back to SW. Ontario. The Niagara Wine Escape is a great place to view trailers and talk to owners. Alf

I walked the tent area last year. It's pretty level, shady and close enough to the action and the facilities but remote enough for your privacy and peace and quiet. Well away from the Parkway and the sound of breaking glass. JK

Looking forward to meeting you. Riverside Park never gave me a tent site # even though I asked for one....that is tentative lol. Will call to day to see if I can get a site number confirmed.

I tented a lot in the 90s when I was Scoutmaster. We used the Eureka on the way to AZ to pick up the 19 three years ago and that was the last time. There will be plenty of pop up shelters and awnings at Niagara if it happens to be rainy,. And there's also plenty of dry area in those tasting rooms at the wineries.

Yes it is too late Alf, we had a site booked and had to cancel since we decided not to take the trailer to S.On, missed last Saturday's wedding, it was outside and too hot anyway. Flying down for the other wedding Sept. 24. Had to cancel the Mississippi rally as well due to the health issue which is better five weeks now since last op, gradually getting more active. Getting out with the Escape for one last weekend on Friday. On account of insurance issues will likely not be heading south this winter, perhaps Victoria instead not with trailer. BTW I did reply one last time on the thread you started re my health, saying I really didn't mind you posting that.

In addition the fun you'll have at the rally, the Falls, Historic flower clock, beauty of the downtown of Niagara on the Lake, and the tasting room and opportunity to walk the grounds of say the Jackson Triggs winery, the only problem you'll have is realizing there isn't time to do it all in one weekend. The solution, go back year after year. Looking forward to this great rally, I am

Mis-Adventure and Her Majesty Skye Diva Gypsy Dog are in Dakota Lakes, MN tonite (well....we are with them, too) heading to a Canadian Highway near you in the next few days.

We may have to slow down our advance, though, as we may hit the target destination a bit earlier than we thought even with spending 3 nights in Theodore Roosevelt National Park in North Dakota.

Looking forward to meeting new friends and re-connecting with old ones. (And, maybe sipping a little wine to boot.)

Josie and Craig

Adrian,
We sure had a good time at St Malo. Thanks for reserving a great campsite for us, we got the VIP treatment in his town campground in Emerson, ( read that a free ice cream cone, and nice meals with Adrian, Beth, their daughter and granddaughter was much appreciated. 79 campers at the rally, about 40 bolers, but only one Adrian and one Beth, the best.

Josie and Craig,
I found the pitchfork fondue pretty tasty when I was in Teddy
Roosevelt a few years ago. We also went
up to frontier forts and Mandan Indian museum to the north of TR.
I especially enjoyed the wild horses in the park. I can find beauty most anywhere I look.

Hi, Dave. If we make it back there in a couple of years we'll try The Pitchfork. Boots Bar and Grill was "meh"....OK but I won't be writing any rave reviews about either the food or the staff. We drove all the way to Watford City one evening to a small diner that serves breakfast all day because the Elkhorn Cafe in Medora got such poor reviews.

We spent all 3 days just exploring the South and North Units of the park. In Cottonwood Campgound (South Unit) we were entertained nightly by the herd of Buffalo...(yes...I used that word in stead of Bison....the native Americans here do not call them Bison) I called the Campground Herd...that roamed through the park in the early evening and sometimes early mornings. We also felt fortunate in seeing the horses in several small herds throughout the park on Sunday.

Anyway....looking forward to some good eats and great scenery in Niagara as Craig and I have never been.

Josie and Craig,
If you ever get a chance, go to Lethbridge, AB, "Head Smashed in Buffalo Jump" a UNESCO historical site and very interesting place. Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump World Heritage Site
