Only if you brought lots of oil to replace what the bumps shook out.

But yeah, it would be a great motorcycle road. We marvelled when we could see a couple hundred feet ahead of us.

I'm home! Actually got home yesterday about 3pm. I don't know about everyone else, but I had a terrific time. How can you not when camping with a great group of people? Sorry the weather was less than stellar, just made me appreciate the breaks in the wind and rain when they happened. I camped a couple of days before NOG with Gina at Cape Lookout and she said it was like camping in a car wash.

I hope folks post some pictures! I didn't take any. Too busy walkin' talkin' and gawkin'

ooooh.... WHO left me a beautiful bunch of flowers at my site on Saturday? I meant to say something at the potluck and it completely slipped my mind with everything else that was going on. I want you to know how much I appreciated your kindness. The flowers are beautiful and right now they're in a proper vase sitting here on the coffee table in my family room.

See y'all at Spring NOG!!

And a big THANK YOU for not organizing the NOG. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed seeing everyone. The rain certainly didn't dampen any spirits .... Ha!! (P.S. Sitting here in the campsite with a beautiful blue sky overhead ... better late than never.)

we were rally ''virgins'' last week and now we're pretty darn happy we went to the NOG! It was fun seeing all the eggs in action and showing ours off. We met some new friends and discovered how much we have in common with many folks! We talked to quite a few folks who don't own a TT but were interested in the lifestyle and eggs in particular.
Thanks so much Donna for putting it together! One piece of feedback that came up a few times in discussion on Sunday. The potluck was a hoot, GREAT food and company but why did it end so soon? We barely got finished eating, door prizes were picked and then clean up and go home? We were looking forward to meeting other folks and continue chatting a bit. We got soaked walking back to the trailer. Gotta love the weather at the coast!

Anyway, we are looking forward to next fall NOG! Was it Silver Falls? Spring and summer we're "on the road again" and can't make the other rallies. I'm sure they're a hoot too!

Thanks 1st to Donna for a great fall nog. Thanks to all the folks who showed me their escapes & provided feedback on the build sheet. Yesterday was a very rainy day but today woke to that wonderful sun & deer in the backyard. Lovely drive down to beachside sp. explored Beverly beach on the way & hope a good campsite is available because I have to come to spring nog!

Boy, do I have some neat photos and videos from yesterday, from near here at Bandon, and up at Shore Acres. That surf was crazy. Wild stuff. Though getting good photos when it is raining sideways was not easy, and at times it took all I could muster to stay standing. A great experience though. Headed inland today.

Jim, So sorry we didn't get a chance to say farewell to you, Lisa and Jasper. Really enjoyed meeting you! Stay safe in all your travels and, if you're ever down in the weird, wacky Santa Cruz area, let us know.

It was great meeting you guys too, and we will definitely be back down the coast. Once I finally retire, we want to do the whole US west coast. Maybe even down into Mexico.

What happened in Manzanita is so very sad. A town of 600 residents and 128 homes damaged. There's far more vacation homes in Manzanita than full-time residents... but still....

I realize natural disasters happen everywhere. I just feel extra affinity for this area because of the four NOGs we've held at Nehalem Bay State Park. We supported those small business and owners.

Where is Fall NOG 2017 going to be?

We unfortunately had to cancel at the last minute (literally, as truck & trailer were loaded) after I hurt my back loading the dog in the truck to leave.

Right NOW, it appears to be Silver Falls State Park. BUT, I need to take a road trip to see if there's any usable shelter for the food events. I'll be posting in January (soonest we can make reservations) the definitive answers.

I'm sorry you missed it. We had fun, rain (no tornadoes!) and all.

We are headed to Silver Falls today for a couple nights. Let me know if you need me to scout out any potential shelters.

ooooh, THAT would be great! I would like your impression of these... attached (more than anything), since you were at Fall NOG and saw the meeting hall, etc.

If you can't get to it, I thoroughly understand, honest. I thought I'd go down after the first of the year.

Please respond by PM, so we don't derail this thread.
