Most any Escape owner at Dome Rock with their door open will respond favorably to a request to show off - I mean view their rig.

The Moab Escape gang is rolling in Good seeing everyone.

Still in sticker shock. Just paid $1.69 for gas. Haven't seen that kind of price in Canada for a long time.

Ah, this desert living isn't hard to take.

Gonna ask a dumb question (having never been to Quartzsite)

will it be obvious as to exactly where is Cactus Heights, within the rally, when I arrive around dinner time tomorrow?

I like the look of that place, Greggo. Nice views.

Some folks call it Cactus Heights and some of us call it Snob Hill

In photo 3 I'm the trailer hidden by a white tarp with the solar panel in the air.

Doug and Myron are probably East of you also on Snob Hill and several Escapes are more or less below them.

We chased the snobs away. Just us regular folks up here now. It's also known as Casita Heights.

Q

We are down here with other low life I guess. Coming West from Q on the service road, we are among the first group you approach, several 21's, a few Casitas and also the registration hosts Earl and Greg. This is where the soup will be dished up and the ladder ball game. Last night there was a large group with music provided.
The yukelele lessons are also given here so Nancy can participate.
Stop by.

So my 7 year old daughter "Little Camper" and I have arrived.

" Little Camper" is easy to spot as she wears a beautiful purple hat in the daytime.

At night we are the ones with red headlamps.

We have met so many nice folks already!!!! A great start to our first ever rally.

Looking forward to all the excitement tomorrow.

Also looking forward to meeting a few Escape 21 owners. I hear there are 5 (!) here already.

:-)

We missed participating in the ladder ball tournament, the trailers inspection, the Soup-in, the campfire and ukulele concert, but... we watched it all unfold from our perch on snob hill. Regardless, what a great 4 days it was!

“Little Camper” and I had a wonderful time at Quartzsite 2016 - our first rally!

I was knocked over by how friendly and welcoming everyone was. We had a great time, and we hope to be at other rallies in the future.

Everyone was incredibly nice…. but I’d like to specifically thank a few people….

Thanks to:

Greg A, Janea, and the kids for hosting, and also being super friendly.

Cat and Philip and Kate for befriending us when “Little Camper” was very upset that her Dad (me) jammed too many things into the Saturday morning schedule, and we completely missed the LadderBall competition…Cat and Philip and Kate you saved the day! Quite literally…..

Bill, and Crayola the parrot, for being so sweet.

Lance for giving us his (just won) BBQ tongs when we couldn’t find ours… and only wanted *one* toasted marshmallow in return. ;-)

and Lance for being so entertaining with his marionette! :-)

Az Jack & Nancy for showing me their 21’ Escape… along with Giselle (sp?) and Bill.

Jon Vermilye for answering my questions before the rally, and for being very kind as well.

I even got to meet the legendary Arizona Eileen! :-)

I’m sure I’m forgetting some names…. but *everyone* we met were awesome.

Big thanks to everyone.

What is the date for 2017 Quartzsite? (or has it been set?)

Great photos, Myron. I will definitely be heading to Quartzite some day. It would be nice though if our dollar got us further.

I see a bit of dust in the one shot, was that ever much of a problem there, what with being in the desert, and all?

Looks like First Place Prize for the Ladder-Ball Tournament was a 3 gal. jug. Consolidation was a 1 gal. jug. Nice Tophy presentation!

I kept hearing reference to Ladder Ball. Looked it up, and it is the same as Snake Toss, something we have been playing for 20 years. I have seen commercial ones with a huge array of names. Fun game, and our second favourite trailering game after All Terrain Bocce.

No, Jim, dust wasn't a problem. Wasn't windy. Just made for a more interesting picture when folks were driving around.

I did discover three trailer related issues, though. The upper awning brace swings up and should catch when engaged at the end of the roller tube. My awning upper brace spring catch, right side, was missing. My spare tire bracket bolts to the bumper, were loose, so the spare could move a tad. Needed tightening. I forgot to turn the valves from the hot water heater back to operational and that's why until Doug pointed it out the water pump wasn't getting water.
